Re: NLN playoffs

York fans caused some damage on Weds night. To celebrate they trashed some seats, threw flares about and generally kicked off a bit with the Chorley fans. What would have happened if they'd lost? To be fair, the Chorley fans threw the flares into the young York fans on the pitch and the young yorki...

Re: Retained list

Callum Cooke released from Bradford and is from Peterlee. Doubt he’d drop to this level and will probs stay in league 2

Re: Retained list

D_F_C, do you think that the budget would support 22 players to start the season? I think it would be closer to 18 players. Maybe, maybe not. When you look at the retained list it included 28 players. Don’t think 4 wide men of KDS, Lambert, Rivers and Mondal is good enough for playoffs Sent from my...

Re: Retained list

Assuming that Griffiths, Hope, Rose & Lowe sign: GK Taylor (Martin) LB Need one (Hope) RB Hedley (Griffiths) CB Wheater Lawlor (Need one) (Need one) CM Rose Moke (Lowe) (Purver) Wide Midfielders Lambert KDS (Rivers) Need one Strikers Hazel (Mondal) Need one Need one I'd guess it'd be something close...

Re: George smith departs

Disappointed with smith leaving, solid option at LB means we have to go out now and get a replacement and use resources which could of been used on other important areas. Not sure I understand the part about using resources. If we aren’t paying Smith anymore then his wage will get taken by whoever ...

Re: Kidderminster V Darlington

Anyone know what's going on with McHale? Disappeared from match day squads recently. Full of talent, but I guess it’s his fitness that might let him down. AA did mention this a few weeks ago. Would liked to have seen more of him but would guess AA will make his mind up based on training sessions Se...

Re: Kidderminster V Darlington

I’d love to see us go in for JJ O’Donnell or Kaine Felix. No doubt we will be in for Jimmy Spencer once again. I see Scunthorpe have announced the retained list and they are keeping O’Neill for next season. If we can’t keep him or Cassidy, I’d like to see us go in for Paul Blackett from Gateshead. ...

Re: Kidderminster V Darlington

don't think that list will be too far off. Smith, Cassidy and Rivers being the most debatable I think. I like Smith, but for a non left back to start the majority of games in the second half of the season suggests a lot. Cassidy only goes if we can get someone better in of the same physicality. AA s...

Re: YOURCLUB Men's Player of the Season 2021/22

Has to be Tommy Taylor for me. Without him in goal, we'd be a lot further down the table. He's good Pete but I personally don't rate him as highly as some on this forum. I reckon there's room for improvement in a number of areas of his game, and I'm looking forward to watching him stay with us and ...

Re: Signings

Whoever we sign a new striker is desperately needed! Hazel could be an option but we are severely lacking up front Can't see this happening. He's contracted till next May, which means we'd have to pay for him and can't see that we'd do that. I think he got mentioned at the forum and AA distanced hi...

I'm just glad we got the game shifted to the Arena to accommodate those extra pay on the gate fans who came along.

Dom Mchale being mentioned and on what I’ve seen of him, I’d consider one of the best midfielders around

Re: Darlington v Southport

The fact that Tommy Taylor was MOTM speaks volumes & well deserved with 3 or 4 class saves to keep the clean sheet. Obviously missed Hatfield & Wheater but everyone put in a good shift. Lots of possession given away too easily, but it was a makeshift team with Moke debut, Thompson's full game so to...

Re: York v Darlington

While I am jealous of York's stadium and the fact that they are a full time club - they are nearly 10.5 million in the red and owe 8.5million to McGill. I think I would prefer to be in our situation. McGill is running the football club at a loss each year, building up more and more debt (to himself...

Re: York v Darlington

Thought we started the game well, got into a good shape defensively which meant we let their CB’s have the ball but the only choice was to punt it long which didn’t work for them. They improved once they made their sub. Need to see again to decide whether it’s a potential red. They had a good 10 min...

Yes, think there’s a decent bunch in there. Some must keeps are Taylor, Wheater, Lawlor, Hatfield, Lambert. Don’t think there is anyone I’d be desperate to get rid of but maybe a few we could potentially improve on Thought we played some good stuff in first half, but just couldn’t get the goal. Stil...

Re: Darlington V Chester

Thought we did ok in the first half, and potentially shaded the first half. But we came out and in second half with great intensity. Credit to the tin shed and players, I thought they egged each other on. The fans were properly with the team in the first half, and the players responded at the start ...

Callum Kavanagh was the one I hoped we could get on loan from Boro. I think if it was ever a possibility it would have happened given Craig Liddle relationship. Charman had at least one offer in the summer to go full time a division above, AA convinced him to stay with us and he would have better opportunities. He wanted to go full time (who blames him) but AA has used his management style/skill to get the best out of Luke and he then had a lot more offers...

Assume that both Lawlor and AA have sensibly agreed till the end of the season with a view to reviewing at the end of the season. If he's enjoying it and no other full time clubs come in then he'll stay. Don't think there's any question that he's a step above what we had at the start of the season. ...
