Re: Brackley away 14/9/21

My second closest game of the season, so I'm looking forward to finally going along and watching us live. Maybe I shouldn't be based on Brackley's current form. They really are an annoying side, same group seem to have been together for years and each season you wonder will the cracks start to show...

Re: Darlington V Sunderland

Based on what I've seen so far, I'm very happy with Taylor, Smith, Purver. Hope looks decent going forward, and will probs get some game time. Griffiths is a good player however I don't think he's been fit in pre-season yet. Was stretching his hamstring in the last game. Need to see more of Mondal, ...

Re: Darlo vs Boro

I did wonder ball looked on the line to me for Mondal's equaliser. Got to say watching the highlights I also think it would be pretty touch and go whether Coburn was offside when he scores for Boro. Not that it makes the defending of the whole first and second phase of the corner any better, no one...

Re: Andrew Nelson

Big if though, he’s be absolutely quality of fully fit - but we are knackered if both Nelson and Charman get injured. Still think we need another striker alongside those 2 like, what about that young lad from Boro.. Kavanagh is it? Or even Burrell.. Think Burrell has gone on loan to Kilmarnock. Sen...

Even Alfreton have made a couple of good striker signings. James Hanson & Dayle Southwell.

Sorry yes. It’s Hanson to Farsley and Matt Rhead at Alfreton

Re: Behind closed doors friendly

Sorry forgot about our new full backs Griffiths and Smith also not available. Availability of players is going to be a massive issue this season with so many people testing positive for COVID at present. True. Hopefully if they are all double jabbed then they won’t have to self isolate if they get ...

Is it just me or is anyone else thinking that this rebuild is not going well? We have lost a lot of talent this close season and looking at the squad I'm not yet convinced the signings we have made will adequately replace those that have left, never mind the number we have on the books currently. Re: Local'ish clubs released lists

I see Luke Molyneux has been left out of Pools squad for the play off game. Wonder whether we’ll be sniffing around for him. I’m sure AA is keeping tabs on the pools released list

Re: Local'ish clubs released lists

Yeah I’d be amazed if Hope was first choice. He’s 18 with a limited amount of senior appearances. Even by AA’s own admission, he hasn’t seen that much of him. Think he’s one we’ll aim to develop with him gradually getting more and more matches under his belt. Yes, and he is likely to be a cheap opt...

Re: BTB2

My concern isn’t too much in regard to the football league but more in ‘money making’ terms. We can’t make the money we need as we don’t own our own stadium. Could also do with a 4g pitch next to it to make some extra revenue

I’d be more inclined to have an ongoing ‘buy a stadium’ totaliser. We’d only need 400 years

Disappointed the Northern echo didn't do a piece on the 96 playoff final 25 years ago today like where are the team now etc. I know we got beat but it was still an achievement to get there especially the way the season started. Re: New Signing

Unlikely that Holness will be back based on AA’s recent interview. Guy lives in Bristol, so he’ll see whether he can get signed up down there, which I’m sure he will. Hudson will get a chance to impress in pre season. AA was keen to stress he hasn’t been exposed to men’s football enough. Laing is ou...

They were so beatable but fair play to them. Remember they had a big lad up top who when you looked at him you immediately assumed he wasn’t good enough, and 1 or 2 others who supported him very well

Interesting to see (as Gramps put in a different thread) the retained list. No mention of Laing. Holness, Hudson, McMahon and Sousa showing as out of contract, which could mean we’ve offered and we are waiting (like we are led to believe with Sousa) or we aren’t offering a contract yet Sent from my ...

Re: 6 players leave

It’s possible that the ‘meh’ was due to watching games on a screen as Loan Star alluded to. I remember taking the piss out of curzon, Blyth, guiseley. But at the same time we dropped silly points at times with conceding some slack goals. I ‘think’ we’d have been mid table. Sent from my iPhone using...

Re: 6 players leave

I didn't get any impression of AA wanting to leave, not sure where that "feeling" has come from. I think a few people had seen 14 players sign for Blyth and expected us to do the same. I do however think that some of the criticism was arguably correct, but it seems that there's plenty of coverage on...

Re: 6 players leave

Within the first 10 days last year we’d raised more than 73K (which was nearly 75% of our initial target). This time out, we’re just over halfway after just over two weeks so it’s definitely down. And there’s without doubt nowhere near the buzz around it as 12 months ago, probably as a result of CO...
