Can’t help but worry this has been one person intending to sell on at a profit. Hopefully someone will check the validity of the purchase if so.

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper
Someone said somewhere else that him and Holliday are on loan at Northallerton. Maybe we should recall them? Yes they are. They were sat on the bench on Saturday so not exactly helping their development. They will be much better on our bench for the next two matches. Only problem may be that you ca...

That’s what I said. Next Saturday as opposed to Walsall which is this Saturday.

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper
If Shields had any sense they would extend Cornell’s loan by a months which would show them as a club that cares about its players. Instead everyone now knows they are just a bunch of greedy, mean minded tw@ts that don’t give a toss about their players, hopefully an attitude that will come back and...

Re: O'Neill recalled
We definitely need another forward in for next Saturday because both Bascome and Donawa will be off on international duty. Either that or we try and convert someone else into a striker, Lainge maybe, it worked for Harrogate a few years ago with Ainge.

Re: Liam Connell - Boost the Budget
Since the start of the season we have lost Heaton and paid of Burn immediately after the cup win at Leamington so no prizes for guessing where that money came from. However Burns salary has now been freed up and could well cover both Hedley and Storey, or at least close to it. And we still have the ...

Re: Liam Connell - Boost the Budget
The problem with having a good fa cup run is that other clubs know how much money you have won and see an opportunity to get a share of it by asking inflated transfer fees. The sad thing in this case is that a player is being denied a chance he will probably never get again.

Apparently yellows in the fa cup carry over from last season so may have got one with Blyth last year in which case he is suspended next week.

5 yellow cards
Jordan Watson’s on Sat. was his fifth but, according to AA in the Echo, he won’t be suspended this weekend but will miss the fa cup match the week after because suspensions are now competition specific. Surely, if this is the case, JW has 4 yellows for league matches and only 1 for the fa cup so unl...

I was there, in the away end, and his swearing was way beyond what can be regarded as “acceptable”. That said, King’s Lynn were so disorganised there was no way they would have refused him entry.

Re: Gloucester V Darlington
If we can eventually get Atkinson and Liddle both fit plus a striker in on loan to give us a different option up front I think we will do ok. When O’Neil went off at half time we just weren’t the same team.

First 2 postponements would be Blyth at home and Gloucester away. Do we really want a midweek trip to Gloucester ?

Re: Darlington V Southport
You can see how they won at Farsley midweek. If the ball is in the air all the time then the pitch condition isn’t a problem. The teams that will win at Farsley will be the ones that play hoof ball. Maybe it is time we had some kind of regulation regarding pitch quality rather than just the ref deci...

Personally I hope that, as well as giving us all the facts and figures, DJ also gives us his preferred option because that is what I will go with. The whole thing is so complex that I would rather trust his judgement than mine.

I think, last season, it was after Blyth put Atkinson into that deep midfield position that they went on their long unbeaten run so hopefully he will have the same effect for us once he is fit.

Re: farsley away
Unfortunately the bus with the usual suspects is apparently setting off at 8.30 and heading into the centre of Leeds where they will no doubt stay until just before kick off then turn up totally inebriated. This combined with a warm day and no segregation is a recipe for disaster, as we have seen in...

Re: BM - Surface
As I heard it, the grounds man wanted to do this but it would take significant extra time above his normal hours but the rugby club refused to pay him the extra money and he wasn’t prepared to take the blame for things not being right.

Rumour I heard was that the grounds man quit because he wanted to follow the maintenance plan provided by the company that laid the pitch but the rugby club wouldn’t let him.

Assuming some of the money we pay DRFC is to cover the cost of pitch maintenance so if they are not keeping the pitch in an appropriate condition then would we be entitled to withhold a portion of our payment until the pitch is put right.

If we push the boat out a little bit to get that all important goal scorer and get a young keeper on a season long loan then wait and fill out the squad with players released from academies and a couple more loanees we should be ok. Maybe even pick up one or two from the Northern League.

With Wright gone Nicholson was always likely to want to play back down south. A talented player but very lightweight for this league. Wonder if he ends up at Stratford.

Re: New Manager Interviews this week
Spenny have offered eye watering money to 3 Blyth players, and you can bet your bottom dollar that a) we want all 3, b) they won't all get a regular game there, and c) it's more about denying Darlo than improving their squad. I guess it depends on whether they want to play regular football in front...
