Re: Worst weather you've ever seen Darlo play in?
I was at the Scarborough game. It was 3rd Jan or something and my programme melted. It was not long after Alan Murray had taken over from Billy boy. We did indeed lose 3-0. Don't know if that was the red cards match. There was one game there under Hodgy where we lost 4-1 and had 2 sent off.

Welcme back Ginge. I used to look forward to your updates last year and was just thinking about when you'd return the other day. This officially means that the promotion run in has started.

Re: I've said it before . . .
There's compelling evidence to show that England's players are massively fatigued when it comes to the end of the season. At the 2002 and 2010 World Cups, we didn't score a single goal in the second half of a match - suggesting players are tired. Indeed it's something Sven Goran Eriksson and Fabio C...

Re: bishop home game off tonight,no surprise there
I'm sure that in the 85-86 season we had such a backlog that we ended up playing 5 times a week in the last week, and we actually got dispensation to play on the Tuesday night after the season had ended on the Saturday (we played Blackpool I think). The fact is that in this country non-league teams ...

Is there anything in the fact that as another club played him without clearance, then we didn't get the book thrown at us?

Are we unique in English football?
I was just thinking the other day that we have now plyead in Divisions 2,3,4 of the football league and tiers 1,3,4 and 5 of the non-league pyramid. If we go up we'll have played in 8 tiers of English football and we've now played in 7. Not counting phoenix clubs, is this the most tiers played in by...

Re: Squad for Saturday and ongoing
So 2 quick questions really.
1. If we only raised enough money to get BM up to C grading, and all goes through as expected, how much extra to get it to B grading (think this has to be done by April, right?
2. If point 1 is correct, how the hell do we raise the extra money?

Salford might not come out of it smelling of roses next week either. The clips of their new managers from Ramsbottom showed them to be rather thuggish and aggressive.

Re: The Arena
Someone said a few weeks ago though that any semblance of a Plan B, i.e. that we were talking to Mowden at all about the Arena, might be a bit of leverage to give us a bargaining chip. This may be what this is about, what with talks with DRFC being scheduled for tomorrow.

Re: The Arena
Am I the only one who isn't massively fussed where we play in Darlo as long as it's relatively comfortable and does the job. All this stuff about the Arena being soulless, Eastbourne having a running track so it would be dull etc. Surely the most important thing is having our team in our town.

Re: Update from the Board of Directors
Fair enough, but 'get the money ' does not assume that dfc would use it, it could equally mean that Bishop get the money, and use it and I hardly think that one post by one fan would end up with us being evicted (well, unless Ted returned to spout more of his drivel).

Re: Update from the Board of Directors
Jenny Chapman's tweet is worrying in 2 ways, firstly, it appears that BM is not going well, and secondly, that we haven't got a Plan B. Someone said a few weeks ago, confirmed by Wizardofos, that the situation at BM had changed because they are running as an amateur team now, so they don't want us i...

As Neil says, at least we know they're talking now.
Encouraging that she says 'The club will move back to town, it's just taking longer than we thought'. I do hope this means Blackwell Meadows, mind you.

Don't be too sure that one side 'walking away from negotiations' means an end to it all. It is a well known negotiating tool to walk away and wait for the other side to come back. In an earlier thread I likened this process to selling a house. Someone puts an offer in which is low, you reject it and...
