Re: David Hodgson Interview

I also like Hodgy and he definitely made Quakers one of the best teams to watch at that level I always thought this was a myth of his own creation tbh. He always used to talk about us playing this attractive brand of football, but other than than undeniable technical ability of a few of the players...

Re: David Hodgson Interview

To call this an interview is a stretch, it’s more Hodgie stringing together a series of stories that illustrate that the world of football is full of dubious characters and dubious goings on, including (it seems) himself.

I like Hodgie, he did well for us, and this is quite interesting though.

Let’s not forget Steve’s Fantastic Four. I’m on about Main, Barrow, Cornish and Young. They’ve all made a difference, but the thing is, between them they’ve made ‘the difference'. So thanks Steve for bringing them in, and thanks to the players involved for agreeing to come.  And thanks...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024

I dunno about that H1987. Seeing as the National league is virtually a proper league, I view National North and South in a way as the top two 'non league' leagues. If a club can't handle a bit of travel and 23 other teams then possibly they are batting too high? Plus, on a selfish note - I want to s...

It’s a funny term “committed”. Can football club chairmen be trusted?

Reynolds and Singh - they were only committed to their own selves.

Wealdstone have 4 home games in a row, then another away one. They could easy leapfrog York.

It wouldn’t bother me in the slightest if York got relegated, the way they treated me last time I went 👎

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board

What S.W. has achieved has been very impressive. Thinking back over the last 30 years I'm not sure whether I can think of another Darlo manager who has orchestrated such a dramatic turnaround on the pitch. Gray did well to make a team from nothing and Cooper did well to win the Trophy, but Watson ha...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024

I've been looking at the last ten game form table.

It's incredible that we've won 7 and lost 3 - and that there are only three teams better than us in this ten game period (Spenymoor/Brackley/South Shields) yet, here we are, still on tenterhooks!

Re: Darlington V Southport

There was something wrong with Southport. It was a big game for them too, yet they looked disinterested.

I loved Young’s continual baiting of the same Southport forward 😁 making him run in to the far corner of the penalty box before he picked the ball up. It was pantomime like.

There’s no chance Matty will be with us next season. He’s a young player who will have plenty of options and if he goes out on loan again he’ll be playing above our level.

Just Sukar and Ngandu out injured according to the preview. SW seemed to indicate a few not fully match fit (think we can guess who) and also emphasized players need to train well to be considered, maybe implying that some currently aren't. Darlo 2-0 Southport. Nagandu has recovered and is availabl...

I don't mean to be funny but what the feck's holding that stand up at the back.... https://x.com/DarloFansRadio/status/1774903141227549172?s=20 HA 😀 it looks iffy but in fact there’s a horizontal scaffolding pole running along the back with frequent uprights giving it strength. ⬆️ Merely pointing out that players get injured. You were right about Gowling 97, but FFS - stop banging on about it. No - because it is entirely relevant (and probably the biggest reason why) to the situation we are in. You may have missed my point? I think most of us will agree that the main reas...

I wish the club would stop these football games that break out behind the open goal. Herds of kids rushing about, booting various footballs all over the shop. Three times in the second half the ball went on to pitch, on one of these times the ref had to momentarily stop the game when we wanted to ta...

To me the 2 must win games are Southport and Farsley any other points are a bonus This is my take also - annoying I'd have only had Farsley if we had beaten Rushall... They might be the two most winnable games (on paper) but heaping all the pressure on those two games is also not a great idea. We s...

It would be good to go some way to atone for that abomination of a result masterminded by Gowling at their place.
This game on Friday has nothing to do with that. It's a game, we need three points to help us avoid relegation - any talk of revenge or of Gowling is not relevant.

Griffiths was matched up against that really good player they have on loan from Walsall - and, possibly he (Griffiths) couldn't play in his normal way because of the plastic pitch?

Here’s a positive. Young will be back in goal on Friday. I watched the live stream yesterday and my Taylor related, penalty box stress syndrome returned, big time. And it’s taken me quite sometime to get over this condition - and if I suffer from it, imagine how the Darlo defenders feel?

Signed on loan from Gateshead. Striker who seems to have a pretty decent goalscoring record. Sounds like a bit of a fox in the box.

Can you get 6’4” foxes ?

They normally come in a more Duffield type size.
