Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll

For those that think we can afford to get promoted in these last few seasons, please go and watch a few games in the national league, the standard is far higher than our league from the games I have watched, (all but one of the home games and half a dozen away games). Think Oxford are one of the few...

Re: Brackley v Darlington

People seem to ignore what has already been said over the period as it suits their narrative I suppose. I don't remember a single fan complaining when AA got the 2 year extention as everyone was worried he would get poached given how we had been doing, not one of us forecast the way the season ended...

Re: Banbury V Darlington

We started brightly against what was a poor team last night, but they could pass to each other, and move once passed which often left them in space to recieve a pass where we are static. There were only 3 shots on target from memory from both teams, and they ended up in goals. Midfield were all over...

Re: Darlington v Hereford

Whole team played well today, every one put in a massive effort, Hatfield covered every inch, defence looked solid enough. Nelson gave great cover for Griffiths who had a task against their tall winger, although it did limit his chances going forward. There was more shots on target in this game than...

Re: Darlington v Hereford

Main and Nelson up front imo, main can score at this level and provide assists, and I think Nelson would relish that.
Just my opinion of course, may have a bet on a 3-1 win :)

Re: v Tamworth

We all have our own views, but for me personally I would go for Nelson, Salkeld has pace and looks lively when he is on song, but seems to have weak feet as not seen him win a 50/50 ball, he has a weak shot and doesn't win headers also lately was slow getting back to cover, (but that may be him suff...

Re: Southport

Those considering the promotion in the near future to the national league, suggest you watch a few games in that league. The standard is a massive step up from our league in quality and standard, we could not compete at this time with our budget, and I am sure, although the board are ambitious for p...

Re: Southport

Thought we started well, and the majority of players worked hard, but totally lacked up front. Players like Hedley who had a solid game defending often gave the ball straight back to their players. Saying that if he could hit the target he has a great shot from distance on him. Will Hatfield run his...

Re: Scott Barrow - new signing

Thought he was excellent, didn't panic under pressure, laid the ball off rather than just hoof it, defence looked solid enough with him there.

Re: Boost The Budget January 2024

I have just put in as a one off, target is a bit of a stretch as it requires say 300 of the fans putting in £100 or 600 putting in £50 each, or £23 each from the 1300 regular supporters, what is just after Christmas to reach it. A fantastic start though and hope we can meet the target in what is a s...

Re: Boost the Budget

While I am still paying monthly, think this is an exceptional set of circumstances and therefore willing to put in additional one off payment if it helps us get out of this bit of a mess. Steve would not have been my first choice I have to be honest, but he will have my full backing now that he is h...

Re: Darlington V Scarborough

There were 2 poor teams on show today I thought, with yet another scrappy goal against being the difference. At times the football was Sunday league standard, yet our players are getting good pay. Think this game proves that Danny Rose is not the answer, why start with a single lone striker up front...

What about Kevin Phillips as manager, did ok at South Shields and I believe was well liked by the players at Shields, can't remember why he walked away from the club, but may be free and an option?

Re: Boxing Day at Scarborough

I hope we get a good crowd on Sat, with lots of young lads who will sing in the Tin Shed. To be honest think that the players will need that lift of the noise and backing from the whole crowd, including some noise from us in the seats. This would be helped if the music at the start were songs we cou...

Re: Boxing Day at Scarborough

Think they did it on purpose OG, my understanding was that we could not have seats and prover view and cover due to work on the stadium, which was clearly a lie if my understanding was true, it also stopped our fans being able to make a noise.

Re: Boxing Day at Scarborough

I may be the odd one out but thought we played ok yesterday, matched a team in play off area, for most of the game, one hand ball and a lack off concentration cost us, but believe we had more shots on target, and made a really good keeper spil the ball a couple of times. I know it is personal view b...

Re: Darlington V Bishops Stortford

I mentioned when Josh was brought in that he sounded like Micky Morton the York manager, nice guy, talked the talk, used all the management speak, talking the team up, but hope he can can put the right players in the right places on the pitch, because Morton proved that was an issue for him. Unfortu...

Re: Darlington V Bishops Stortford

I was confident going into the game, the Rose interview said players were up for it and trained well. Within the first 3 minutes my confidence went, other than Hedley who looked up for the game, the rest were half hearted, there was no real formation, the visitors who had travelled on the day were f...

Re: Gloucester (A)

I decided to go to this game, as desperately need to see a game, hope the players can prove they are up for the fight or it will be a long quiet road back, and to be honest another bottom team we can't beat, so season becomes more difficult. Fingers crossed.

Could it be that JG is still learning and...

Re: Warrington

Played some good football at times, with a really good goal, and several really good chances to score against, to be honest a poor side. We gave the ball away too easily at times, but thought the difference was in the substitution, instead of doing a like for like substitution with Salkeld coming of...

Ghost, do you really believe that?, people say things in the heat of the moment, I have not talked to a single person in my circle of friends who would do either, as they are fans and hurting the club further is not what a Dan would do.
