Re: Who next?

100% this - no way Gray unites the fan base. The same can be said for Hodson too - far too many people see Frank Tweddle's book on us as their sole source of managerial inspiration. The only thing that will unite the fanbase is winning matches. The reservations about MG would be largely pushed asid...

Re: Who next?

For me Martin Gray is the obvious choice until the end of the season, he's available, he take's no prisoners - dropping out of this league will set us back years, the people that don't want him back need to bite their tongue for now if it means we stay up. There is no obvious other choice. Needs mu...

Nothing against him but he hardly “ticks all the boxes”.
May I ask who does?
Well nobody but on paper Martin Gray, Steve Watson and Graham Fenton would tick more boxes.

Re: Who next?

Looking more likely it’s Hodgy as interim manager. If this is true our board may as well resign too  Absolute laughing stock I disagree. If people are happy to appoint someone even on an interim who’s not managed for almost two decades then I’m done with this club The truth is that the g...

Re: Boxing Day at Scarborough

All Hazel needed was a big lad alongside him with some ability to keep at least one defender busy. We have replaced him with someone who could have been that man but needs someone like Hazel alongside him….. And does he have that at Boston..........if so why are the goals not flowing? Don’t you rea...

What’s the craic then? Seemed likely that Danny Rose was going to step in as caretaker at least for now but no announcement of the sort as of yet.

Re: Who next?

Whitby manager Nathan Haslam if we accept relegation is now nailed on, would be my choice. Used to the division below and turning out a reasonable team on an average budget (you would think). By all accounts applied last time when Gowling was given the opportunity. Either way we are now skint and l...

Re: Who next?

So a guy who has been out of management for 5 years is the best we can hope for? or a guy out of management for 20 years? Really? Has Gray ever successfully fought relegation? Or just been a decent manager when having the biggest budget to work with? We are what, 7 points off safety. We apparently ...

Re: Who next?

There’s legitimate reasons why MG might not be the right guy for us in the long term but in the short term it makes a lot of sense. He’s 100% the best we can hope for.

Re: Who next?

Managers are desperate not to have a relegation on their CV, the job wasn’t an attractive one when JG got it, it’s even less attractive now. Watson was the calibre of manager I was calling for before but can we attract him in our position? Not convinced.

Personally I think he should’ve been given more time given the mess he inherited and that things did seem to be going in the right direction before the Bishop Stortford game. You have literally lived up to your name of Crazy. He should have gone after we were thrashed 8-0. Regarding the mess he inh...

Re: Darlington V Bishops Stortford

I suspect we’ll see a similar type of game to what we saw in the previous two home matches. We should have plenty of control in the game, just hope we can show a bit more of an edge in the final third to get us over the line. Harsh to change a winning team but I do feel that Griffiths and Salkeld ha...

:) Are they being asked? Or have they come together and said they want to stay away to increase the chances of a win? If it’s the latter then I can’t see any problem They were asked. I'd settle for 0-0, I really would. Definitely not.Its now s*** or bust time to get out of this mess .We’ve got to have wins to catch up.I’ll settle for 0-0s when we’re safe. I mean it isn’t it’s December but two very important games nevertheless. Four points would be a very good return and a clear...

Crowds won’t drop significantly from what we’re seeing this season at BM, the 1 to 1.2k have proven to be pretty much unmovable, even when playing 10 miles out of town. The only difference will be the 1 or 2 decent away followings we get a season in the NLN. 4 out of 24 teams go down every season. W...

Honestly, have we got no patience at all in this fanbase? Asante is an outstanding coup for a club in our position, regardless of the fact it’ll take him a couple of months to get up to speed. Gowling said in a recent interview that he hoped he’d be ready to start against Southport. This! Whilst he...

You obviously believe him. I and others do not let's leave it there.
