Blackwell Meadows has been a curse.

A rushed decision that has been a millstone around our necks.
We'd have been relegated and unable to be promoted to NLN again if we hadn't moved back when we did mind.

And Spenny have now got shot of Dickman. Wonder if they've got Fenton lined up already. I'm afraid skint and probably relegated Darlo are maybe at the end of the queue. It's looking like we had our big chance and a clear run at the managerial market when we sacked AA. Now the water is muddied. I'm ...

⬆️ I don't thing Gray is the type to work in a double act. Correct. Also Hodgson is 63 years old and been out of management for yonks, and has repeatedly said he does not want to return. Despite the fact it’s only a couple of weeks since he publically said he wouldn’t say no if asked again…… I thou...

I can't think of anyone with a proven record of getting clubs out of NLN relegation battles...

Arguably Tommy Wright but he put us in it in the first place (that's a joke...in case anyone jumps on it)

I think Gray could work again and he might have a bit more humility about him this time - which could work in our favour.

His fall was more rapid than his rise.

Re: Who next?

To avoid relegation we basically need to match what Buxton/Blyth/Peterborough Sports have done in the first half of the season in the next 23 games.

That should be achievable if we get the appointment right.

Re: Darlington V Bishops Stortford

The best we can hope for is to be in touching distance when we get into the New Year. Feels like there are then 3 chunks to the rest of the season. - Scarborough - Southport. Winnable 4 games - Tamworth - Boston. Really rough run for 8 games - Buxton - Chester. Will likely need to be beating those i...

My first thought is disgust at the players and manager for a lack of loyalty.
'loyalty' always expected of players and managers when it suites clubs...rarely returned the other way.

Players and managers are dropped like a stone when better options are available.

Out of those clubs, the only one who has experienced relegation before getting back to where they started from were Newport, and we are talking the 1990s.
Were we not relegated from NL Prem when we were demoted?

A lot of the phoenix clubs or clubs that were demoted have bounced back and climbed up the divisions, so I suppose we must be one (or maybe the only one) of the few who have actually stalled and then started going down again. The other stand out figure in the 21/22 accounts was "Match Day Costs" at £146,000 (versus £84,000 the previous year). Rent and rates are listed separately, so I wonder what the breakdown of this is?
Didn't we only play 11 league matches in the 20/21 financial year versus 42 in 21/22.

Re: Hodgy

That was a list from the accounts of costs from players wages so would be inclusive of BtB each year.

It does show that BtB has been an increased proportion of total playing budget each year.

I've added in (BtB + non playing) into the list.
