Re: Jake Lawlor

Assume that both Lawlor and AA have sensibly agreed till the end of the season with a view to reviewing at the end of the season. If he's enjoying it and no other full time clubs come in then he'll stay. Don't think there's any question that he's a step above what we had at the start of the season. ...

Re: Luke charman

I notice the “Why’s it an undisclosed fee? As a fan-owned club we have a right to know” mob are out in force across social media. These will be the same fans who don’t attend AGMs or fans’ forums, don’t volunteer, don’t vote in elections and instead spout off on social media about wanting the manag...

Re: Luke charman

I do love it when Old Git starts with the over-exaggerations. Sure fire sign other people have made sensible points and he’s lost the argument. He doesn’t seem to grasp that none of us want to sell him for what we perceive as ‘not enough’ but are looking at the possibilities of why Maybe under his ...

Re: Luke charman

I mean, we could let him go for 20K with lots of add ons, but then what if he doesn't end up being a success and gets released by Rochdale. Add ons are no guarantee and you have to be prepared to knock down the price if you want them included. Putting a positive spin on it, at least 40K is guarante...

Re: Luke charman

I understand that we can not hold him back but if he is allowed to leave for £40k with no potential extras it will be daylight robbery and those that have allowed it to happen have been very naive. Hypothetically what if Charman had said well if you won't agree to £40k I'll just take my chances on ...

Re: Luke charman

Rochdale is apparently where he is going and has played his last game for us. Thanks for the memories Luke and good luck with the rest of your career. A million pound move to the Championship in a couple of years would be nice if it means we pocket a nice little earner [emoji3] If they pay the rele...

Rivers was ill. Mondal didn’t play any worse than anyone else really. Re: Darlington V Gateshead

Think we did about as well as we could. Whilst they deserved to win, I was slightly disappointed as at the time they scored they weren't really opening us up and it came from a mistake from our CBs. The second goal wasn't great defending from the whole team either. The third was supposedly a yard or...

Re: Spennymoor game

Whilst I’m not defending the decision, the choking was the wrong side of the ref and there was no linesman on that side either. Also it’s more on Curtis faking like he’d been punched as it’s very difficult for a ref to see him faking it

Re: Spennymoor game

Trouble wise it was handbags that lasted two minutes. All totally avoidable though by having police or even more than one steward in the section between the stand and the concrete plinth we were allocated to stand on. As soon as bricks were thrown from outside the ground into the Darlo fans then a ...

Re: Spennymoor game

Re the actual game. I'd say we were marginally the better side overall. 3 saves and 2 close misses in the second half. Spenny got in close a couple of times, but don't remember Taylor having to make a save. Pen looked debatable, but would like to see again. Getting a point away to a promotion hopefu...

Re: Spennymoor game

With the missing personnel I'd certainly have taken a point beforehand but it's a game we should have won. They very rarely threatened our goal and Tommy Taylor had very little to deal with. Their keeper was the man of the match, making some great saves. Biggest fall-out from the game is losing Cha...

Re: Spennymoor game

Better than nothing but I don’t think he need to have said that a small contingent of Darlington fans let the club down with their behaviour. The responsibility for the situation lies entirely at Spennymoor’s door and I did not see any of our fans behaving unreasonably in the circumstances. If you ...

Ellis, Lawlor & Cooper (although 2 of them aren't ours) are better than Storey, who is in turn better than both Taylor and Beeden.

Re: Southport V Darlington

I'm a big fan of AA and I've never considered his position to be under threat. As Gramps and others have said there are plenty of reasons for an up and down start. There's no doubt that AA's recruitment (in some areas) can be questioned but at the same time he's made some very good signings. Feel li...

Re: Boston V Darlington

Have to say I am beginning to doubt whether Armstrong and Holloway have the tactical nouse to be successful at this level. You would think that a former striker and former defender would be an ideal mix in a management team but it doesn’t seem to be working. This is the third season they have had t...

I was very much in agreement with Ghost of1883 at the time over the players that left us in the summer and nothing since has changed my mind. I disagree about Campbell getting in to current first team. Who would he replace? Not as good out wide as Rivers or de Santos and certainly not as good as Ch...

Re: Kettering v Darlo

I guess there won't be a video as it might conflict with their match report. According to that Cassidy should have been sent off, Rivers should have had treatment off the field for the foul that lead to the penalty. And it was a fair tackle and not a penalty. Got to say that I was not at the game s...

Re: Southport...

Dan McGuire limped off with a groin injury after 40 minutes today and Blyth lost 4-0. I think Alun did the right thing in refreshing the squad. Also, Adam Campbell has scored very little this year, which may be partly down to where he is being played. Regarding recruitment, all clubs have found it ...

Re: Darlington V Guiseley

Poppyfield is right about Wheatley - just not the star player from last season & I can't imagine why that should be. AA claims he will change things so swap Wheatley for Lambert, Cassidy for Nelson, KDS for Rivers in JE93's line-up & could be close to start XI. AA does need to sharpen up on electiv...

Re: Darlington V Guiseley

I doubt we'll see too many changes. I'd expect to see Lambert in for KDS (don't think he'll drop Rivers as he does the defensive job as well). Maybe Purver in for Wheatley. Can't change the back 5/Keeper. Would expect the front 2 to be the same if Charman is out after tomorrow. Wouldn't change the f...

Re: Southport...

Gray got us to the playoffs when the ground was objectively worse than it is now. Different team and on a promotion high. Not unusual to see a promoted team do well in its first season in a new league. Virtually the same team in the next season struggled and Gray walked out. The rest is history! Di...

Re: Chorley v Darlo

A tough trip to Boston has been traded for a tough looking trip to Chorley. Chorley seem a slightly difficult team to read, looking at the table their position looks very promising, in the playoff places despite having played one less game than those around them. With 17 goals scored in just 7 game...
