Thanks for your analyses and insight over the season. Time to relax with your family unless you can tune into the V9 Academy series and prognosticate about the Quaker lads chances of making the big time!

And wasn't there a clause in Beck's transfer that if Harrogate did go up then Darlo get £5k?

Re: York City

Gray will already be thinking up his excuses. Gray out. The Penney had already dropped with York fans, Gray is not the messiah but a very naughty boy. From our point of view, 3 nice 'local' away trips next season to Blyth, Spennymoor & York after all three of them bottled it on the run-in. Unbeliev...

Re: I've never known a team make such heavy weather of it

It was the heavy weather that did for Spenny. If Southport put on another display like they did at BM....... At least this new format for playoffs keeps interest going beyond April, but not sure how happy i would be as a Harrogate fan. To be absolutely sure of going up, you must be Champions. Seems ...

Going back nearly to the subject, wonder how long it will be before Darlo are playing South Shields and/or Scarborough in VNLN? Both good days away & nice seeing some more North East clubs coming through.

Re: Darlington FC V Southport match thread

Not a great way to finish the home season but then again let's be honest it's not been a great season on the pitch. Luckily off the pitch we have worked our way into a position where it looks like next season we can have a good go. Would like to see Wright be quite ruthless in the summer. The squad...

Re: Darlington FC V Southport match thread

I was surprised how many Southport fans made the trip considering there recent form. I was told 13 so how many were you expecting? There were certainly more than 13, probably 30ish, as they were in different parts of the ground. Heaton must be worried that the extra visitors may have been scouts , ...

Re: Darlington FC V Southport match thread

Styche could not bully their centre half so spent most of the match complaining to the Lino hence massive void up front. Syers well off his game together with Turnbull & Heaton. Only O'Hanlon, Gillies, Thommo & Pears prepared to put a shift in plus Saunders came on to get a long overdue goal which s...

Re: Transfer targets for next season.

First of all we need to move a few players on. Burgess, Marrs and Scott seem givens to be released, and as much as I like them I wouldn't be shocked to see Brown and Portas go too given their limited availability this season. That would give us Heaton and Galbraith with Collins and Vaulks as back u...

Spennymoor must have some tears tonight, blew a 1-0 lead then conceded the winner to 10 men Telford. Bradford PA fans probably could not believe their eyes and their team now in with a real chance of the playoffs. Wonder if Spennymoor is now regretting spending the money on improving their seating? ...

Re: Coming up to the NLN next season from the EvoPrem

Hereford clearly retained or have re-established their fanbase after they went pop - 4,556 at their home game yesterday. Could be very competitive next season. One of the main reasons for their success has been the unequivocal support from the local council who have just completed the 10 year lease...

Don't know what maps the FA & league are using, but Google reckons Hereford FC is 30 miles further than Brackley from BM and only 2 miles further than Gloucester City. Barmy!
But we knew that....

Re: Darlington FC v Nuneaton Town

Brown isn’t the type of player to hang around and just pick up a wage if he’s not going to be involved. I’m sure he’d rather be playing each week elsewhere as much as he loves the club and has been a huge part of what we’ve achieved over the last 6 years. Would have been nice to give him (and Leon)...

Re: Darlington FC v Nuneaton Town

Bit of an anti-climax after Spennymoor. Styche well off the pace, not prepared to run at the defence. O'Hanlon deserved his MOTM award and Pears to thank for the clean sheet but nowt to thrill the fans. Caton nearly nicked it near the end with a good shot after a neat cutting in.

The Tamworth fans reckon that losing Styche is one of the main reasons why they're going down. Just had a quick look at York Press headline - City have just gone 4 successive games without scoring which has not been done for 96 years. What about York and Gray part company, then Hartlepool get a new manager? Hartlepool offer a pre-season friendly as 'compensation' to York then several 'brave' players get tempted by long contracts to leave DarloFC for a good transfer fee. (Caton for example). Gray gets to be manager under his benef...
