Two things occur here if we're really trying to make pay cuts mid-season...

The first thought to my mind there is that we're short-term financially fucked so have had to ask the players to drop their wages or settle contracts. Maybe an FA cup run was our last chance of a big payday to cover costs and now we've blown it.

However, that seems a bit funny in the week that Raj came out and revealed the wage budget to quash talk about how our costs. So hopefully he's just coming down hard on the players... thinks Cooper brought them in overpaid, they're not pulling their weight and need to drop salary or leave.

It'd be a funny old move either way and surely the PFA will step in on something like this?

At the end of the day a 900k wage bill is unacceptable when we are losing to fucking pub teams week in and week out, and any players with any pride whatsoever should realise this.

They have cost this club prize money by getting laughably knocked out of the cup, they have cost the club potential gate money by being bottom half rather than top 5.

Sounds like Singh has had enough of his money being pissed away by a bunch of fucking piss takers and is saying you're costing the club money, the club wants some back. Don't like it? Then fuck off.

At the same time, players have bills to pay and contracts, the time to be scything the wage bill is May. If this is true it could backfire badly because the players contracts would be breached, they could all walk for free (bye fucking bye to 2/3rds of you) and we may not be able to raise a team. There are 6 or 7 players worth keeping, they could all go too...

Also the bad publicity that we're bound to get is going to knock the fanbase even more, who can be arsed to watch a s*** managerless team full of unarsed, s***, insecure players? We'll be lucky to get 1,500 on saturday.

He would be dead right too.

Perhaps some of the prima donnas should have thought about that when they decided to reduce their productivity levels.

But perhaps we should wait to read the story before we all jump to conclusions, eh?

I find it so hard to disagree with you.

Here we go again. I've a gut feeling that it really will be game over this time round.

It sounds as though Singh has lost patience - no manager now would want to walk into this

Loughlin's tweet:

loughlinechoNick Loughlin

I won't be tweeting the back page of tomorrow's Northern Echo - fair to say the lead is a real stunner for Darlington supporters

I gotta agree...."stunner" normally has positive implications, no?.....although if they're talking about the same thing that doesn't really fit with arni's tweet....

I know what it is, everything has fallen back into place.

Steve Staunton is returning as manager and Arni has been told he's training with the youth team again...

But then ended it with NOT and took it up to the 140 character limit with exclamation marks?

Ah. Well in that case I retract all of my comments from this thread... and add the following:

I noticed the official site have just posted a new story on Twitter. I clicked on it expecting some sort of explanation of today's goings on... turns out it's just a feature on Dan Burn.

EDIT: Maybe Arni's post was some sort of reverse sarcasm (ie. the sarcastic undertone of "this week just gets better and better" is cancelled out by the "NOT!!!"). I know I'm probably clutching at straws, but I like to stay positive.

Have to say I'm tiring of it all. Says something when you look back on the Reg Brealey days with nostalgia. The club has never been the same since we left Feethams & no longer feels like the club I supported as a kid. Hey ho, we'll see what the latest problems are soon enough.

You know what this means of course, the Echo can dust off their 'Quakers in Crisis' logo's

Well, anything too disastrous would be on the front page....so aim optimistically plumping for management speculation.

I am a bit deluded, mind you.
