No way! Really? Wasn't prepared for this, never saw relegation coming - it must have really crept up on us.

How can we, the worst team in the league beat the best team away from home and get relegated in the process?, I don't know whether to laugh or cry

My first relegation, and while I thought I was resigned to it, seeing 'Darlington relegated' in red on Sky is hideous.
Well done to the lads tonight, but in some ways it makes it even worse.

Losing out in the playoffs actually hurts more than being relegated. Funny that.

its down to perception of the season - when we were beaten in the play offs it was widely thought that we would get promotion that season, when we lost by a single penalty it was a kick in the teeth.

this season it was apparent after a few months that we'd likely be relegated, so have had longer to digest this.

i also think relegation is eased by the fact were on our best run this season which bodes well for next season.

Yup, 4th relegation for me as well. I started supporting darlo in 1984 and saw 3 promotions and 3 relegations in the first 8 years.

Then nothing for the next 17 years!

Same with me I started in about 73 / 74.

This one doesn't hurt half as much as Scunthorpe in 88/89 and nothing will ever feel as bad as the final whistle in the Colchester game.

Not quite nothing though Mobi - 2 Wembley trips, 3 David Hodgsons, Tino Asprilla, Craig Liddle, Marco Gabbiadini, the Reynolds years, leaving Feethams, the Arena, the Houghton years, 2 administrations and a lot more good and bad times.

but I do know what you mean!

Marvellous!!!!!!

This should surely kill the team off. Have the debts of the last "company" been paid yet? Can i see Darlington Football Club 2011 Ltd. on the horizon yet?

Disgusting.

Enjoy Sunday morning council pitch games boys......

I'll tell you what disgusting is - trying to cheat your way out of relegation by playing a player who should be suspended. Let him without sin cast the first stone, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones etc.etc.
