Torquay unlucky, the ref disallowed 2 headed goals for fouls on the keeper, out jumped on both occasions, no way were they fouls.

Singh may have to put his money where his mouth is as firstly the squad will be due a bonus & also Council want to redevelop the Victoria Road site. Not sure they have the dosh to do it alone & will want Raj to chip in. Mixed blessing this result.

Some of ths is a bit mean spirited. Pools people are the same as you and I / all men are brothers till the day they die. Says Joe Allon.
They'll be playing Sunderland soon.

I was largely ambivalent to the result, although you'd be livid if you were a Torquay fan. There was nothing wrong with either goal that was disallowed. Congratulations to Pools (except Singh). I only hope we rejoin them someday.

Tbh the most annoying thing about the result is it puts a gulf between us again.

I don't really get any pleasure from Pools losing, it would just be nice to be on a level with them again and not be closer in standing to South Shields than them.

I guess the derby is still only one season away (and not the county cup) it just needs more to happen than before.

It isn’t necessarily about Darlo v Pools.

In this case, it should be Darlo v Singh.

Because who on earth would want the man who plunged the club into administration, stopped paying the players & creditors (including charities), withheld the footballing share, has faced a spate of employment tribunals and narrowly passed the FA ‘fit & proper’ test any luck in the world?

Raj might have won this one. He will get his moment of fame, Pools fans will laud him as their saviour (even though he has loaded up millions of pounds worth of debt against the club and secured the debt against anything of value) and will feel somewhat vindicated over the 2017 debacle.

This promotion only prolongs the inevitable.

Good to see Andy is talking sense. Hope they really struggle back in the FL. Just remember that we could still be in the same league as them in 2022/23, well we can all dream!!!

It is a bit bitter sweet for me Poolie getting promotion. On the one hand you have to acknowledge they have done well but Singh’s involvement is hard to swallow. They are on a different path to us right now but things can change and at least we are not weighed down with debt.
I don’t get why some think we should let the rivalry with Poolie go and move on. Local rivalry in football has always been there and added spice to derby matches and some day soon I hope we will be beating them again. Until then I will still enjoy it when they get beat and even more when they are struggling in the league.

Doesn't the "Gulf between us" mean we are not trying to sign the same players from the same pool so slightly better for our recruitment?

Don't think we were ever in the market for the same players as them.

They are full time we are not.

Nothing against poolies, everything against their owner, I believe that he will be shown to be out of his depth ,the cost running in league 2 is significantly higher than the national league, he tight strings pulled the plug on Darlington fc paying by far less than he will now have to stump up, what goes round comes round.

He's wondering how much he can get for it when he pawns it to support next year's playing budget. (And how much of that he can pocket when he cuts and runs.)

How was your day out at Wembley by the way? Oh... yeah sorry... you've still not been there have you? :D

It only took Raj about 6 months in 2011 to go from cup winner at Wembley to chucking his toys out of the pram. By that reckoning Poolie will be looking for a new owner by Christmas 😢

Big difference is the funding is the payments from the PL.

We were sustainable, at the Arena, in League Two. Isn't it worth over £2million a year or something?

I am pretty sure it is actually less of a burden on income to sustain a League Two club than to win promotion from the National League.

Might be wrong, or out of date info, but aren’t league 2 players wages capped at £1 million a season. Per team.

Didn't that proposal get scrapped after an arbitration case brought by the PFA?

You're right Mr. Wing, we've never been to Wembley.
But we've also never played league games at Newton Aycliffe, Penrith, Sunderland RCA etc. etc.
It's swings and roundabouts isn't it, I'm happy with where we are at the moment and I'm sure you're happy with your lot

Maybe not Newton Aycliffe, Penrith and Sunderland RCA exactly. But if you check the history books, Hartlepools United first team have played league fixtures at the likes of Spennymoor, North Shields, Seaham, Hebburn, Jarrow, Ashington, Durham City and Shildon.
