Looking forward to this game, hopefully we can take our Brackley performance into this match and build up a bit of momentum.

Hope it isn't the same ref, although he is probably getting a lift back on their coach now.

Fair result in the end. Not much happened in the first half and they defended well when we upped the tempo in the second half. The game featured one of the strangest refereeing decisions I've ever seen. In the second half their full back fell as he dealt with a long ball and seem to handle it (without anyone challenging him) as he went down and the ref awarded them a freekick. One of several utterly perplexing decisions by the man in the middle. But no complaints about the result. Not enough moments of quality to win it by either side.

A fairly poor game today and honestly don’t think either side did enough to feel they should have won. On a positive note our defence is looking stronger and a welcome clean sheet today.

We'll have to perform better to get through to the next round although a first clean sheet is welcome. I'm sure Chester will feel that the hardest part of the job has been done.

I'll be taking me Flymo down to BM before the next home game!

Unfortunately the referee was as usual for him centre of attention, he always takes the pee when he referee, s at blackwell, it's like Darlington team are his whipping boys, decisions absolutely unfathomable, off sides that weren't goal disallowed that appeared onside, free kicks that were against us but given in Chester's favour, very poor refereeing performance he should be demoted at least 2/3 league's, on reflection he should be sidelined for a number of months.

Nothing to be afraid of in the replay. Get Rivers back in and on a better pitch with the away fans behind them, then we've got a decent chance. It might suit us being away.

Wasn’t a great game to watch TBH such a shame after last Tuesday. However all to do again this Tuesday and if we show the same spirit we could go through to next round I’ve no doubt about that.

He did our game at Guiseley a few seasons back and was the same that day. Giving strange free kicks and stopping play all the time. It must be just us he dislikes as he was certainly a homer that day.

He is at least consistent. Unfortunately he is consistently poor every time he comes to Blackwell Meadows. Don’t know how this referee keeps his place on the list because some of his decisions are baffling. As already mentioned the free kick he gave against us when their player fell over and handled the ball was bizarre and he always seems to want to be the centre of attention. Someone needs to tell him the fans have come to enjoy a football match not to watch him make a pillock of himself.

Won't disappoint. Offside decisions has got to be the weirdest thing to put on the referees shoulders.

Can't imagine footage is going to highlight anything else that has been said so can't really comment. The offsides comment is just a bit weird.

Guess I’ll need to try and wangle a half day at work to head down to Chester on Tuesday.

Almost more important was the 50/50 prize that was nearly £900

Failing to issue a card for a rugby tackle was a particular highlight, I thought.

Yes I had forgotten about that idiotic decision. As blatant a booking offence as you could wish to see and he gave the free kick and took no further action. Even some Chester fans stood near me were bemused by that one. Although they did comment that they had seen him before and expected him to be useless. Surely the assessor must question his competence over such an obvious error.

17 quid for the replay on Tuesday night the greedy buggers! I suppose we’ll get half of that though! Any other Manchester based fans making the short train journey?

Working in North Wales on Tuesday so a short 20 minute trip for me, looking forward to it.

Couldn't tell from the website what the segregation situation was though, nor which stand we'll be in if it is segregated. Anyone know?

We’re in the west stand. They usually give us a couple of blocks on the right hand side of it.
