Good news - now its a race against time to get place ready. A 3000 capacity ground that will havee better facilities than most clubs in NPL and even Conf North (after seeing North Ferriby's ground)

It will be an incredible feat to have it ready for opening day of the season, let alone pre season friendlies.....

Sunderland to be invited to officially open the new ground given pre season friendly last year?

BTW when I clicked on the Echo story, one of the adverts in the bottom left of the story is for a company whose address is an Industrial Estate in Shildon - very unfortunate or insensitive advertising positioning

Which is the corner which can't be built on? The one on the left of the tin shed? (looking towards the pitch).

Great news - even more pleasing that we'll be there in time for the new season.

Buzzing.

Still a lot to be done to be there in time for the start of the season, but the major hurdles have been cleared (planning and finance).

A big thank you to every one who's done their bit to date.

.... perfect timing .... we all need to build on the feel good factor that this news brings and take it into our remaining games .... players ..... supporters .... all of us .....

.... I'll always remember the last time we played those poolietypes ..... that song they sang about being "invincible" and why they were "going up" comes to mind (still haunts me a little, I guess) .....

We need the same invincible mentality .... todays news could go a long way in giving us an extra psychological lift, just at the right time .....

I've not visited Darlington for 2.5 years now, but will be back in 3 weeks for a visit.

There's a lot of things I can't wait to show my son, who's never even been to England.

The Town Clock.

My old school in Hurworth.

Broken Scar.

The ground where his football team plays.........

I have not been back to Darlo / England since the FA Trophy Final... seems like a trip to the new ground is on the cards :D

Odd if the fixtures clashed with Darlo & the Rugby Club I used to go to the Ketton Lunch at DRFC, then have a taxi waiting to take me to the Arena for the Darlo game... changing from one black, red & white club tie to another black red & white tie on the way....
Now all I would have to do is change the tie

Sums everything up, and a great F-U to the cowboys and asset strippers of our late-Feethams / Arena years - we'll continue lovingly passing this grand old club through the generations long after their grubby hands have gone cold.
