FA Cup 2nd qualifying round draw

Post by Darlogramps » Sat Sep 03, 2016 4:31 pm

Is on Monday lunchtime I believe.

4 Northern League clubs (Bishop Auckland, Consett, Shildon and Morpeth) are through, while Dunston, Billingham Synthonia and Whitby (of the NPL of course) have replays.

Spennymoor and Blyth Spartans are also through.

Spennymoor aside, I wouldn't mind being drawn against one of those sides.

Knowing our luck with cup draws, we'll end up with AFC Fylde away.

I presume we enter the competition at the 2nd qualifying round? Any north east side would be fine, especially Whitby away.

any home draw will be ok but we need to take it seriously to get as far as we can to gain some extra revenue

Hopefully get a good draw but no doubt Gramps has it spot on and we won't get the best of draws.

no disrespect for consett but Id rather get them at home in the next round, at least a decent gate and the best chance of progressing

The way I see it as a club we want to make first round proper. The easier the route to there the better for us.

We get first round proper we will surely be televised given out back story.

Not if Saford get there! Unless it's Salford v Darlo of course.

stop being so sensitive. There will be more than one televised game. From what I remember they do Friday night and Sunday.

Looking at that list a tie against the landlords would be a decent tie. Good crowd for both clubs to gain from and a decent chance for us to progress as well. As was said earlier this is a great chance to generate revenue. Money for a cup run and the higher than average crowds we've had so far this season could mean BM upgrades are available to us quicker.

Bishop home or away would be great

We went to the game yesterday - apart from 2 players, Osset were simply terrible and it was an easy tie for Bishop Auckland. The match in general was far from the slick/fast football seen the previous night - it was almost as if the ball was 3 times heavier. Andre Bennett was playing for Bishop, he looked sharp but got nobbled after 6 minutes and had to be subbed.

Some people just have to use their Salford obsession to fuel their persecution complex. Everything is a conspiracy against us.

I see Nightingale scored for Farsley in the FA Cup yesterday. I'm a bit surprised we've let him be cuptied because if we go on a run you just never know what the injury situation may be. I think he went there on an initial one-month loan.

Think it signals that Nightingale has no real place in our plans unfortunately.

Can't see Nightingale getting a look in given the way Gilles has started. Hopefully also suggests Gilles injury isn't a long term problem.

It's Gillies!!!!! Gillies, Gillies, Gillies, Gillies, Gillies, Gillies.

There are two "i"s!!!!!

We don't own a player called Gilles.

Aww bless. After failing so many times before the 12-year-old charva tries once more.

But still he can't make a coherent post.

Ultimately, it's not difficult to spell Gillies correctly, with two "i"s. Only laziness or idiocy prevents that from happening.

Maybe the reason you're willing to accept Darlington fans not being able to spell their own players' names correctly is because you're one of the most intellectually deficient people on here.

And this is the 4th time in the last few months you've thrown insults at me for no reason. So if anyone has an obsession, it's you.

I disagree. a poorly written or misspelt post detracts from the point being made. IMO it also makes the person come across a bit thick (dyslexics and similar folk excepted etc)

Has the draw been made yet and if so who have we got? Can't find anything on the FA website.

Interesting language from the BBC:

Former league side Darlington, now rebranded Darlington 1883 and playing in the National League North, host Lancaster City of the Northern Premier League Division One, the eighth tier of the English football pyramid.
