Re: Trotman joins villa
Good to see he is taking rehab seriously. Still paying him to ‘graft’ as well???
Re: Trotman joins villa
I'd imagine he's at the regular self-care phase by now, so it's fine. Also he's young, playing for a club a long way from where he lives, and is probably bored to tears by now.
So I hope I speak for everyone when I say I hope he gets laid, then wins 50 grand, so long as he puts some of it into next season's boost the budget.
All that said, Love Island is massively weird.

Is this fake news? It seems to have been removed. The story has also been removed from the Echo site.

Re: Trotman joins villa
Proud to say I've never had the displeasure of watching the programme. But great move for Luke & further excellent publicity for the club. I just feel that the potential WAGS probably have no idea where Darlo is & if they come to BM, they'll be very underwhelmed, as it's not exactly Premier League standard is it?

Re: Trotman joins villa
At least this means he should be happy being part time for a while longer.
That show is mostly about generating status to earn revenues as an "influencer" after the show. Limited shelf life but would also mean he could concentrate on football for a while after uni (doesn't he finishes this year?)

Re: Trotman joins villa
Yeah he finishes Uni this year.
Be good to keep Trotman beyond this season, however if he leaves then I am sure it gives a decent chunk of budget back into the pot.
Who knows what will happen but for now he isn't part of our squad so good luck to him.

Agree just read a stuffy piece by Scott Wilson in the Echo, the lad is part-time so he needs to work as well as play. As for knocking the club they seem to get the best from the players. Wilson should take a positive interest in the region's form team.

It’s a bit of a bizarre column. For some reason he’s shoe-horned in the fundraising that’s gone on, and used it to justify some forced moral outrage in his argument.
The fact fans have raised even a single penny is entirely irrelevant; this is completely an issue between Trotman and the club. Seemingly the club haven’t an issue (presumably with caveats about his rehab attached) and let’s be fair, there’s a reasonable chance Trotman may not play for us again anyway.
If he was 100% fit and playing every match, then it’s a different matter. But as a non-league player he’s got every right to look out for himself financially, particularly as he’s out injured long term.
Wilson comes across like an out-of-date grandfather, confused at the modern world developing around him, who spends his time reminiscing about what things were like in his day.

Scott Wilson should get into the real world of football, especially grass roots.A deal may well have been agreed between the club to reduce his wages as I would imagine he will be very well paid to be on LI.This could easily free up funds to bring another player in that AA is desperate for.
Pretty poor from Wilson IMO.

Re: Trotman joins villa
Trotman's contract is his contract and if he is injured he is injured. There is not much else to say about it. Money wise he will be paid what he's due. Contracts work in our favour when we get transfer fees for players they equally work "against" you if a player is out injured for a prolonged period - that is life.
I doubt a couple of weeks in South Africa is going to set his recovery back substantially - I wasn't aware we were expecting Trotman to return until the very back end of the season anyway?

Re: Trotman joins villa
Agree article is way over the top.
Some fans asked the entirely appropriate question as to whether this will affect his rehab, and the club have responded with a comprehensive answer, so really nothing to see here, and good publicity for the club.

Terrible journalism from Wilson. Completely out of touch as others have pointed out.
He usually covers full time Hartlepool doesn’t he?

Re: Trotman joins villa
I'm pretty sure this counts as warm weather training. It must have been hell for him to recover from that injury both mentally and physically. Regardless of how he does on the programme I hope it's a great bonus in getting him back to good health and playing where he belongs.
Re: Trotman joins villa
Back in March. Wow! Someone also mentioned that Holmes was doing some running with the squad a couple of weeks ago.
Re: Trotman joins villa
Will he definitely finish uni this year if he's away for a few weeks?
Maybe this is what Armstrong meant about loaning someone out to free up funds!

Re: Trotman joins villa
If Scott Wilson knows Luke Trotman well enough to judge his dedication and integrity, or indeed has spoke to the club to ask for their view then fair enough.
But I doubt he’s done either, and if not, he’s just being a local journalist writing a pretty sneering column piece about someone he hasn’t bothered to know anything about.
