Quaker TV
The FA have just announced that no streaming of matches will be allowed again between 2.45 and 5.15 on a Saturday. Guess this means no QTV this year

Bit like Corrie then, midweek episodes only?darlobaz791 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 1:53 pmThe FA have just announced that no streaming of matches will be allowed again between 2.45 and 5.15 on a Saturday. Guess this means no QTV this year

No doubt the League will demand clubs still do highlights, feel sorry for the guys who have produced a very professional product so far.

What if lockdown means no fans again?darlobaz791 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 1:53 pmThe FA have just announced that no streaming of matches will be allowed again between 2.45 and 5.15 on a Saturday. Guess this means no QTV this year

Re: Quaker TV
I’d imagine if we did have another lockdown (which I don’t think we will) - then we’d be allowed to broadcast games live again, if we were indeed playing football still during a lockdown.bga wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 5:13 pmWhat if lockdown means no fans again?darlobaz791 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 1:53 pmThe FA have just announced that no streaming of matches will be allowed again between 2.45 and 5.15 on a Saturday. Re: Quaker TV
Streaming did a job while fans weren’t allowed in the ground. Now they are back, it feels the right decision.
Re: Quaker TV
When I lived in the town I'd go to the match but I live 120 miles away and can only get to a few home games (and more away games) each season.
I'd buy from Quaker TV as would many exiles.
Lost income stream for me.

Re: Quaker TV
Shame to lose it, as an exile it was great being able to watch Darlo at BM on a Saturday afternoon without having to travel 200+ miles. But I understand the underlying principle to try to protect live 3pm football in this country.
Can't say it wasn't expected. So for now I guess it's just one last big thank you to all those who were involved in bringing it to our screens and making it such a quality product.

Re: Quaker TV
Agree. I guess it applies to FA Cup and FA Trophy games as well?Darlogramps wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 6:13 pmStreaming did a job while fans weren’t allowed in the ground. Now they are back, it feels the right decision.
Re: Quaker TV
It’s a shame. As well as those in exile, for a while longer there will be people who can’t attend due to isolating, health issues, or a general reticence of being back in a crowd. Attendances will be down for much of the season, so the added revenue from Quaker TV would have helped.
Never argue with an idiot: The best possible outcome is that you win an argument with an idiot.

Given it is an FA decision yes.bga wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 7:31 pmAgree.
Well yes. This is a league rule down to EvoStik level pre-pandemic.quakersfan wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 4:47 pmNo doubt the League will demand clubs still do highlights, feel sorry for the guys who have produced a very professional product so far.
Filming games is actually an insurance requirement down to step 4. It is required for player to player insurance claims which is what nearly bankrupt Ossett.

Re: Quaker TV
Whilst QTV does create an extra revenue stream from exiles you can just imagine on those cold January afternoons against the likes of Curzon Ashton, people would watch it at home rather than go to BM.

Re: Quaker TV
I understand the decision but I wish BT Sport would actually show a few matches in North and South...
Can we still use QTV for international viewers?

Do you include Wales among the internationals?

Domestic users would find away to circumvent the block using VPNs.

Quaker TV
Keep seeing people suggesting it’ll generate extra revenue. Would it though?
You’d have to make streaming at least the same price as as a matchday ticket, if not slightly more, so as to incentivise attending matches in person.
Plus there’s a smaller market as you’re getting 1200+ attending in person.
By the time you subtract production costs and so on, the amount the club could make would be small, I’d imagine. Be interested to see the actual numbers who watched last season from say 100 miles + away from Darlington.

Re: Quaker TV
If it is only Saturday afternoon matches, perhaps we should move to Friday nights/ Sundays? The rugby club could claim they needed Saturday afternoons.
