Hartlepool.
It looks like Challinor is set to jump ship and head to Stockport with rumours of problems behind the scenes.

Re: Hartlepool.
Yep he’s gone alright.
Re: Hartlepool.
Not sure it is indicative of anything other than Stockport's financial weight since their takeover...they recently managed to demonstrate sufficient vibes to sway Antoni Sarcevic, Bolton's captain, from League One.theoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 10:29 pmIt looks like Challinor is set to jump ship and head to Stockport with rumours of problems behind the scenes.
Re: Hartlepool.
Anyone seen Singh talking to Steve Bruce or Ole Solskjaer? Not sure where these rumours start...

In football you accept that these things happen, if Alun can create a winning team and get us up, no doubt he would be a wanted man.

But it's also fair to say that the relationship with Singh was at times fraught, particularly in the contract negotiations. Singh resorted to putting in a matchday programme that the manager had been offered a fair deal and should sign and Challinor had a go back saying the offer was way below what the average manager was on in League Two. It's clear he felt it was like getting blood out of a stone to get what he regarded as a fair deal and he made it clear he wasn't happy with how things dragged on for months. There have also been major cutbacks behind the scenes which no doubt had some impact on Challinor and his day-to-day work. In the circumstances he did an anazing job there and they'll be big shoes to fill for Singh.

Maybe Singh will fill those shoes. I really believe in carma..raj could tell everyone his version. Mind it will be twisted to suit the facts as he sees them as normal for him.
Re: Hartlepool.
Just wait till Challinor starts cherry picking some of the players.

Re: Hartlepool.
I picked up similar vibes (no pun intended) it seemed that Singh tried to cut a tough deal and maybe this left a sour taste with Challinor - his wife tweeted to say some stuff had gone on behind the scenes. Usually people tend to stay loyal if you treat them right.LoidLucan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 8:55 amlo36789 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 7:03 amNot sure it is indicative of anything other than Stockport's financial weight since their takeover...they recently managed to demonstrate sufficient vibes to sway Antoni Sarcevic, Bolton's captain, from League One.theoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 10:29 pmIt looks like Challinor is set to jump ship and head to Stockport with rumours of problems behind the scenes.

Re: Hartlepool.
Maybe. I think his head was already turned mind.
It sounds like his agent has been given the details of exactly what Stockport would give him mind so obvious Hartlepool offer didn't come close to that.
I was speaking to Dave last year and I am sure he lives towards Manchester. He met the team at Halifax as they were coming from different directions.

Re: Hartlepool.
Does Jeff Stelling want to try his hand at managing his beloved Hartlepool?
Re: Hartlepool.
Big decision ahead for Singh on the appointment of a new manager. Quite an attractive job in some respects as there is positive momentum there having won promotion and then making a decent start to life back in the EFL. Usually at this time of year teams are looking for a new manager after a poor start to the season and are facing a relegation scrap.
Will be interesting to see who he appoints although I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tony Sweeney given a chance to show what he can do for a few games. He is a bit of a legend in those parts and did a good job in temporary charge a couple of years ago.

Re: Hartlepool.
Despite what folk think of singh theres been a few players from as high up as league one going to stockport so they are clearly rotten with money and even of singh uppped challinors wages his heart would not have been in it once his head was turned
I may not live in the north east anymore but i still support the north east teams
Re: Hartlepool.
Hartlepool even lost their captain to Morpeth in the summer. That’s a drop of 3 divisions!

As you say money talks. Stockport…Hartlepool….hardly a Man City ‘project’.
Players and managers follow the cash. RS didn’t offer enough - simple as.

Re: Hartlepool.
He was happy to sign a new contract. There seems to be a few national league clubs paying players and managers alot more than football league clubs which i never expected due to canned seasons, games with no fans etcComfortably_numb wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 10:48 pmDisagree.shildonlad wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 8:41 amDespite what folk think of singh theres been a few players from as high up as league one going to stockport so they are clearly rotten with money and even of singh uppped challinors wages his heart would not have been in it once his head was turned

Re: Hartlepool.
Singh must feel proper miffed that a signed contract wasn’t adhered to, he of course wouldn’t dream of doing anything duplicitous like that
