FA Trophy 2nd Rnd Draw

Post by super_les_mcjannet » Sun Nov 14, 2021 8:30 pm

Tomorrow at 1pm, will be published by the FA but not on radio etc. at all.

Quick look would suggest the options are possibly the 21 other clubs in our league or one of the below 14. No doubt the FA will complete a slightly different North/South line to the draw so below might not be spot on but close enough.

Wouldn't mind a few games in the Trophy, so home tie v's low rank team would be good. Liversedge & Marske are leading Step 4 this season, Marine are always a good cup team and a nightmare. So Stalybridge Celtic or Radcliffe Borough from below, if not then dare I say Blyth in their current form.

No doubt we will get someone like Kidderminster away.

Marske
Radcliffe Borough
Stalybridge Celtic
Morpeth Town
Nantwich Town
Whitby Town
Matlock Town
Lancaster City
Ashton United
Tamworth
Warrington Town
Marine
Stourbridge
Liversedge

Wouldn’t mind a trip to Whitby for some fish and chips.

That's what happens when you trust the internet.

Will swap out, Stalybridge at home wouldn't be a bad draw.

Are there 8 ties which are all NLN? Out of 22 drawn only 6 aren't facing NLN opposition.

Think its 9 ties all NLN. So only 4 escaped, BPA, Farsley, Guiseley & Telford.

Not the trip to the seaside I was hoping for. However, it is a chance to right some wrongs and will be an opportunity to see if we are progressing and learning from past mistakes.

On the positive side, Southport will be thinking this is a fairly routine passage to the next round after our abject surrender in the league match. If we can sort out our obvious weakness in coping with a succession of big punts into the box, we might surprise them with our passing game. If you can nullify their main tactic, I'm not sure they have a Plan B.

TBF Southport is on the coast, but agree it is the wrong one! Quakers often play better against good teams, so fingers crossed.....

Haha! Hope the lads do put on a good show for all of us. DAFTS and Exiles are a big part of the club as evidenced at Chester last weekend.

We have excellent away support no doubt about it. DAFTS and Exiles along with our travelling supporters from Darlington area are a massive asset to our club and I am sure the players and management appreciate that.
