Andrew Nelson
Won’t be playing until 2023 at the earliest. Needs surgery on the cartilage problem that’s been keeping him out.
Absolutely gutting for him.

Re: Andrew Nelson
Such a shame. Hope we can stick by him and he gets himself sorted for next season.

Re: Andrew Nelson
Wow, he'll basically have missed 3 years of football by the time he can come back. Wonder how he makes a living outside of the game?
Re: Andrew Nelson
Must be gutted after trying so hard to get back, hope it works out for him.
Was definitely worth the risk in the summer as would have been the answer to replacing Charman for sure.
Let’s give Mondal a final chance to show what he can do with surely a lot more confidence, as seems O’Neill has lost something in his game since first time around.
Then over to AA to unearth a goal scorer in the summer.

2023?! wow - that must be some injury he's got to keep him out of the game for 11 months - unless he can't have surgery until a few months time.Darlogramps wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 9:50 amWon’t be playing until 2023 at the earliest. Re: Andrew Nelson
I`ve been waiting 2 yrs to get some dental work done on the nhs because of covid roll on May
Re: Andrew Nelson
Jees, I missed that and just read 2023. At that point, you've got to wonder if he'll ever play at a decent level again. Such a shame. Hope he can get himself sorted and maybe he can train with us in the meantime (I'd assume his contract with us will be long gone at that stage).
Re: Andrew Nelson
Don't think we can afford to carry Nella for yet another couple of years. Our squad has been stretched to the limit, especially in forward line, hence AA has a harsh decision to make & pull the plug rather than renew his contract. Make some room for some youngster in development to step into the squad and wish Nella a full recovery in the long term.
Re: Andrew Nelson
Depends what his terms are - if you are an injury risk getting anything but pay as you play will be hard.jjljks wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 12:01 pmDon't think we can afford to carry Nella for yet another couple of years. Re: Andrew Nelson
Would imagine he will have to look for a job outside of football if he hasn’t yet done that. Unfortunately, he is probably never going to be able to play full time, and the best he can hope for is to get back playing part time at some future point. I don’t believe he has been costing us a great deal of money this season but presumably even that will not continue much longer.
Good luck to the lad. Sounds like time to find another career path and hopefully he can do that successfully.
