Re: Fylde v Darlo
Just watched highlights.
How good is their pitch……would love to watch us play our passing football on a flat pitch like that. Please don’t spike our pitch then cut it short again for Saturday. No wonder many of our best performances are away from home, excluding Farsley,s !
Makes you realise how bad ours is.
Cracking winning goal too.

When did that stand pop up behind the goal at Fylde...doesn't half seem to make the ground look empty having that extra capacity.
It is no surprise you could hear the Darlo fans when they were more crammed in that the other end.
You would think they would be better closing some sections to try and help with the atmosphere a bit.

New stand is ready for their football league debut later this year. The football league will grant them an unprecedented double promotion replacing Hartlepool United in League 2.

SPOT ON THERE. Future for us is a 4G pitch, not just because we are a half decent footballing team (given a flat surface) but also because it could be rented out to generate more revenue. OK, would prefer grass but for financial reasons this would not be good sense for any future stadium.Quakerlad wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 10:28 pmJust watched highlights.

Great to see KDS crash one in from way outside the box, as often this season we looked like we were trying to walk the ball into the opponent's net. Gives the whole team confidence.
Re: Fylde v Darlo
Just read a tweet from Tommy Taylor that there was no food supplied after the game and they were told to go to a burger place down the road if they were hungry!!.

Re: Fylde v Darlo
If I recall correctly work started on it last summer, it has improved the look of the ground but good god having just watched the highlights what an echo chamber that place was last night! It was almost an arena-esque atmosphere by the sound of it a smattering of fans rattling around in a largely desolate ground.lo36789 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 11:35 pmWhen did that stand pop up behind the goal at Fylde...doesn't half seem to make the ground look empty having that extra capacity.

Surprisingly unsurprising result we seem to turn up in games like that and Fylde have been blowing hot and cold since Christmas and have now lost 3 out of their last 4, they're already out of the title race and they'd need a miracle to catch Kiddy in third place.
I can't imagine Mr Haythornthwaite will be too happy with how their season has gone so far.

It had a weird feeling of a Papa Johns game from the way the crowd was spread out.quaker4life wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 6:54 pmIt has improved the look of the ground but good god having just watched the highlights what an echo chamber that place was last night! Re: Fylde v Darlo
My point is about any future pitch that Darlo may own should be a 4G one rather than grass, for purely financial reasons. We cannot afford to have a pitch that is only used for us to play home games on. A 4G pitch can be used for us to train on, ladies team, Academy and rented out. Fylde may have a perfectly smooth grass pitch and this suited our style.theoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 1:02 pmjjljks wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 12:31 pmSPOT ON THERE. Re: Fylde v Darlo
The downside of a 4G pitch is that as things stand it would prevent us being able to enter the EFL. That could change in the future but in recent times Harrogate and Sutton have had to rip up their 4G pitches. I think the ideal position would be to have a 4G training pitch alongside a new stadium with a grass pitch.jjljks wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 8:39 amMy point is about any future pitch that Darlo may own should be a 4G one rather than grass, for purely financial reasons. Re: Fylde v Darlo
A 4G pitch would only need to be changed if we were to reach the Football League, as Harrogate Town did when they were promoted. That certainly wouldn't put me off.
Ideally, two 4G pitches could be installed to ramp up revenue generation; one as part of the main stadium and a secondary training pitch.

This is where the town plan comes in. Where is the population under served by existing facilities in the town.Beano wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 12:15 pmA 4G pitch would only need to be changed if we were to reach the Football League, as Harrogate Town did when they were promoted. My personal POV is that 4G pitches are not the holy grail that some people think. There are a number of issues re them that can be argued over or discussed, but leaving them to one side, I have never watched Darlo play on an artificial pitch and enjoyed the experience.jjljks wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 8:39 amMy point is about any future pitch that Darlo may own should be a 4G one rather than grass, for purely financial reasons. Re: Fylde v Darlo
And with 4G pitches the goalposts aren't in the ground - they are those silly goalposts on wheels. I saw a clip on twitter the other day from a National league match where a player collided with the post and moved the goal about 3 feet across from where it was supposed to be stood.
We can't be having that nonsense. Tin pot and laughable.
