Ideally we need one to replace Mondal for a few weeks - even if it is a young one on loan to go on the bench.
Any rumours?

Re: Striker
Anyone know if Calum Kavanagh is still actually at Harrogate?
From what I can pick up he was on loan from 29th January, played in 3 games, picked up a slight knock but was due to be back on 12th February, hasn't reappeared so has effectively not been in the squad for Harrogate since 5th February.

Re: Striker
According to today’s Echo it looks like a loanee but not from a NE club as AA says he has had to go further afield.PierremontQuaker03 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 8:42 amLooks like we have one....95 percent on the dotted line

From the Clubs Facebook page:
Quakers have today signed striker Cameron Thompson on loan from Barnsley until the end of the season

Re: Striker
Bit worried we were going backwards when I heard we had signed Thompson, but turns out its not Stephen (the legend)!
Re: Striker
Last couple who f loans from Barnsley were very good, if that's any indicator (which it isn't really to be fair) - will smith and romel Palmer during the Tommy Wright season if I recall correctly
Re: Striker
Don't forget David Speedie came from Barnsley back in 1980 then after 2 years moved to Chelsea for £80k
Re: Striker
Didn’t Tommy Wright also come from Barnsley? Also I believe Carl Airey was signed from them as well.

Re: Striker
Not forgetting the signing of excellent full-back Neil Austin from Barnsley in 2007.

See also Gary Coatsworth (of looping header fame).

Barry Conlon (second spell)
Re: Striker
I think Phil Lloyd, scorer of the second goal against Middleborough in the FAC in 85, came to us from Barnsley, too.
Re: Striker
He went to Charleroi in Belgium but didn't settle and played just three games at the start of the 86/87 season before spending the rest of the season at Chesterfield on loan.
We've exported a few: Darren Collier to Hong Kong, Ron Ferguson to Belgium, Craig Hignett to Cyprus, Jeff Smith to Belgium as well as (I guess) any number of foreign players who've gone abroad post-Darlo.
