Safe standing wasn't an option when the stadium was being built
Surely it was?

All seater stadiums are only compulsory in the Premier League and Championship and rail seating has existed for well over 10 years now. It was installed at Shrewsbury nearly 5 years ago.

So where on these plans I've looked at Skerningham / Burtree , does it show/mention, a ground for DFC ? Anyone.

It doesn't. We seem to be relying on Ben Houchen to conjure some stadium fairies. He will presumably also conjure an indoor arena and a bunch of infrastructure in time to host Eurovision next year. Anyone else who points out the obvious deficiencies is a naysayer and talking the area down.

Very interesting comments in York Press about their new LNER Community stadium. Biggest complaints were about half-time queues & price of a pint (£6.50)! Also a lot of grief about putting in a section of safe standing in South stand - cost of £250k. Wonder why this wasn't designed in the new build.
Check it all out for yourself

True, but the architects did not include supporter group wishes in the design. They could have anticipated this within their design so it would have been easier & cheaper to remove seats, reconfigure the stand.
Similarly, York FC now want to add in a much larger scoreboard which can be used to show adverts as well as scores & time. Apparently Spenny's sign generates £80k pa, which is one way of improving revenue into the club. Part of the problem is, like BM, York FC are tenants and have to negotiate with other users of the Community stadium about costs & sharing of income. Whole lot simpler if you are owners of the ground! (If only we could afford that!!)

250k seems an absolutely mental amount of money for some railings. I sometimes think the construction companies associated with football infrastructure must be laughing all the way to the bank. Especially when you compare to some of the legacy stuff at older stadiums that are left hanging around and will have been done for buttons. 250k to fix some railings to some seats is a joke. (It is somewhat mind-bending they ever opted for all-seater in the first place, given they share with a rugby league side who don't need all-seater either, but that's beside the point).
