Raj Singh has…

Post by theoriginalfatcat » Wed Mar 16, 2022 7:01 pm

… donated £250K to the Ukraine.

This is a great gesture, I have been a critic of R.S. over the years but this is impressive.

Just wait and see what Ukraine think when he tells them it was a loan and wants it repaying.

This seems a bit odd but Raj Singh is a bit odd so maybe that makes it normal 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hasn't transferred to HUFC just giving page yet ! Sorry to be cynical but this man doesn't do things without a business lead or catch to it.

Surely it will all be tax deductible. It is after all just days away from the end of this tax year.
Or is this me being cynical as well.

Even if it's tax deductible, or a PR stunt, or whatever, there will be a substantial financial donation going to people who desperately need it. I think Singh is wildly untrustworthy and I'm glad he is nowhere near our club anymore, but a good deed is still a good deed.

This is my take on it too. Forget about all the other sh£t, this is a separate issue and this large donation will help a lot of people.

Lets not forget that Radged donated 10k to our first ever BTB as well.

He never asked for it back when we didn't want him to come back to the club, so that money was given in good faith.

It's over a decade since he was our chairman and he did what he did. We're now fan owned, stable, and have had 3 promotions. He's got Pools back into the league.

He can't undo putting us into administration or the way he kept moving the goalposts etc, but it's a long time ago now and we need to move on.

I never understand why people say “it will all be tax deductible” as if that means it’s not a cost to the person donating.

Think some mistake it as mean it is deducted from tax bill rather than taxable amount.

Raj thought he was making a bid for Chelsea as he had heard they were in financial trouble, hence he had a chance of making a fast buck.

What ever people think of Raj it’s a bit churlish to criticise him for what is a very generous donation.

Have to agree with the above. It’s ten years since our demotion to the Northern League and time to move on.

Agreed. Singh did wrong but at least hes admitted it and has been trying to right the wrongs of the past at hartlepool. His business was also suffering badly when he took darlington to the wall
I may not live in the north east anymore but i still support the north east teams
