Danny Ellis - Man Mountain

Post by PhilD » Sun Apr 03, 2022 8:50 am

Went to the match yesterday vs Leamington. Pitch was very dry, rock hard and bobbly. Loved the fact we still tried to play football though. Thoughy Danny Ellis at the back stood out for us. Nothing got past him - a quite brilliant performance. Starting to get a little excited at the possibility of potential play-off spot.......

Lawlor was very good too yesterday. While Ellis was the one who looked like he'd clatter his gran to keep the ball out of the box, lawlor was very tidy indeed. He'd be a big signing for next season.

Totally agree, Ellis and Lawlor were a perfect combination yesterday. It was wonderful to think that we defended so I well without Wheater in the team! Most impressive though was the absolutely clear evidence that this is a team that has bonded and is playing together as a unit. Well done AA for turning around a season that was heading towards disaster!
