Alfreton next .

Post by onewayup » Sun Apr 03, 2022 9:23 am

 I think Alfreton will be totally different from last game, they will be up for it ,Darlington have to show that the consistency of the last few weeks isn't a flash in the pan, that they the players are a quality group of players who won't buckle under pressure, they must show why Darlington are where they are which is the players have come good like AA said they would and have done so at the right Time, really looking forward to the last 7 games and where it takes us,
Com,on Darlo onwards and onwards ,exciting time to be a supporter, if you're not supporting the fan owner club why not get yourself involved,
Com,on darlo,

I hate to be pedantic, but it's Alfreton and also we didn't play them in January....

Again I blame brain fog. And Covid .and yes alfreton was 28th September. Not January. I still think we need to do a job on alferton get in the grove from the start. 3points to keep the momentum going. 👍

Are you Darlo_Pete in disguise ? Try 28th August and Alfreton. Hope recovery going well.

Looking forward to this as only 25 minutes away for me. Hopefully a few make the journey. How many do you all think we will take. If I'm right the last few times I've been we've taken approximately 150.

Quite a few who don't always go to away games are showing an interest in this one.

I am guessing at 250/300 will head to Alfreton, quite a buzz currently and after the ups and downs of this season it's great to have with 7 games to go.

Would love us to have something to play for in those last few games.

The game when we beat them 2-1 on their ground in September 2019 was a great away day. We were 1-0 down but pummelled them in the second half and finally drew level and then won it with goals in the last five minutes. The goals came in front of our fans behind the goal and there was a great atmosphere. I seem to remember Billy Heath was going mental as we pinned them back and they couldn't get out of their own half.

Yep, it was a great game. If my memory is correct Liddle in particular really got stuck in.

Was a class afternoon that one.... Highlights are below if anyone wants to remind themselves :-)

We really gave them a good going over in the second half and scored the second pretty much immediately after equalising.

"This is a result for football. They're just a team of angry men, Alfreton."

Les McJannet can come again!
