Tuesday night 5th games
Hoping for draws between Chorley v boston and Kettering v York,
defeats for Evenwood utd v BPA and Alfreton at Kidderminster,
expect Curzon to lose at Brackley just to kill any faint hopes they have.

Re: Tuesday night 5th games
Difficult to call what results would be best for us. Brackley, Chorley & Kidderminster are practically out of our reach so wins for them would help us, even if it was just to shatter Alfreton before we play them on Sat and also Boston's play-off hopes. Like BPA to dent the "Pride" & their hopes too. Kettering & York can scrap away for a goalless draw whilst picking up a sackful of red & yellow cards. I will be watching how these games are going rather than the 1/4 finals of the Gazprom League.
Re: Tuesday night 5th games
Chorley 1 up against Boston
Kettering beating York 2-0
Spennymoors down to ten Curtis sent off 0-0

Tuesday night 5th games
Seven points separate 6th and 14th. Will be quite a few sides thinking a good run in their last seven or eight games could see them sneak it.
Not a bad night for us although Kettering’s win puts them in a strong position. Their game in hand is at home to bottom club Guiseley next week.
But Boston and Spennymoor losing helps us out, in terms of sides chasing us losing ground.

Re: Tuesday night 5th games
That went nearly as well as could be expected.
Chorley eased past Boston 2-1 & kept them down.
York lost away at Kettering & failed to score but that brings Kettering back into the play-off picture.
Spenny lost Jamie Curtis to red card & then 0-2 BPA
Shame Curzon held onto Brackley for a point 0-0
Only result we never wanted was Alfreton to win at Kidderminster, which keeps them in the mix for the play-offs and a timely boost to their confidence ahead of our visit.

Re: Tuesday night 5th games
Chorley win pretty much puts them in the play offs barring an absolute disaster.
So it's a battle for two places, whoever puts a good run in the final 7/8/9 games will make it out of the pack - form wise currently is Darlo, Kettering but then York have the games in hand. Also form can change very quickly in such a tight group points wise for so many teams.
Be some twists and turns on this one, onwards to Alfreton on Saturday for us.

Re: Tuesday night 5th games
Warning from an angry Kidderminster fan as their conquerors Alfreton await us on Saturday: "When you let a fat, old, slow 20+ stone donkey dictate a game you don't deserve anything."
Re: Tuesday night 5th games
Spennymoor seem to be really struggling at the moment. Great to see the Ginger Whinger sent off again. Wonder how happy Uncle Brad is with his appointment of the 2 Muppets, and how patient he is going to be if results don’t improve before the end of the season.

Re: Tuesday night 5th games
Had a look through Spenny tonight, although it was somewhat amusing seeing James Curtis get sent off it came as a surprise at the time BPA were on the counter and he hacked their lad down but there didn't seem to be an obvious goal scoring opportunity and nor did he appear to be last man. I thought Joe Tait's offence later on probably warranted a red card more when he reached around and put his hand in one of their lads faces when he broke towards goal, only given a yellow.
No doubt the sending off tipped the balance BPA began advancing forward in numbers, they'd been wasteful until their first goal an absolute screamer from their number six after that they had Spenny pinned in their own half and they were chasing shadows for long periods of the second half, the second was also well taken Spenny huffed and puffed late on but BPA won comfortably in the end they certainly didn't look like a side in the bottom half.
They were so rigid at times it was like watching table football, flat back four pressed high up and squeezed the space in midfield also nullifying Glenn Taylor who was very much a passenger through out.
The only real surprise tonight was Brackley failing to beat an out of form Curzon, definitely an opportunity lost there it'll certainly be an interesting dual between them and Gateshead over the remainder of the season for the league title.

The fictitious attendance figures released by Spennymoor have reached ridiculous and laughable proportions now. You'd be very lucky if there were 500 or 600 in the Brewery Field on Tuesday night and the "Official" crowd figure is given out as 1141. What's all that about? It's completely nuts. Must keep someone happy to keep reading these works of fiction every time there's a home game.

Isn’t this because they include all the season tickets uncle Brad gave away even if they’re used or not?LoidLucan wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 9:31 amThe fictitious attendance figures released by Spennymoor have reached ridiculous and laughable proportions now. It seems everyone is at it. There is a correct figure for safety reasons, then a bigger one for cosmetic reasons.
I wonder if we do it? I wonder if we did it when G.R. had a BOGOF deal at The Arena?

How can you ever term it as an "attendance" if hundreds of those people clearly don't "attend." What a bonkers club.

Looking at the highlights, no way should that be given as 1100 unless the side where the camera is located was packed to the rafters.Who are they trying to kid.LoidLucan wrote:How can you ever term it as an "attendance" if hundreds of those people clearly don't "attend." What a bonkers club.
