Goal of the season.

Post by theoriginalfatcat » Sun May 08, 2022 9:45 pm

Kev’s second or the Gateshead wonder free kick for me.

But I reckon there is one choice missing, Charman’s last goal at Blackwell Meadows, a nifty turn and perfect placement of a shot to the top far corner - up at the grassy bank end, can’t remember the opponents right now :eh: (EDIT - Fylde at home, as pointed out in a following post)

A stopped clock is right twice a day.
The Blackwell Meadows clock is wrong all day every day.

His winner V Fylde I think you're talking about.

Think it will be Dos Santos v Fylde away for me. Closely followed by Lowe vs Gateshead.

Yes, these are the two I’m on about but I’m going for the other way round, Lowe’s free kick is stunning and with a minimal run up too. At Gateshead, when it happened, I was shocked as I didn’t think a shot was viable.

My favourite goal isn’t even on the shortlist. The goal of the season for me was Luke Charman at home to Spennymoor on New Years Day. He received the ball about 35 yards out on the right wing and turns and evades a challenge before driving the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the net from 25 yards out. Brilliant goal out of nothing and the last one of his Darlington career.

I was very surprised Luke’s goal at home to Fylde wasn’t on the list.
