No way I'm predicting we've only got 14 players and one's the reserve keeper!! It's definitely the gap between seasons.

My prediction is that Spennymoor will be looking for a new manager by Christmas.

Martin is going to bag 20 goals this season, who needs a full squad 😂

Either that or he will get a record number of red cards 😂

Looking ahead to the new season and just wondering how things may pan out. Obviously, a great deal of guesswork involved but I have split the league into 4 different categories based on how I think teams might perform.
Promotion Contenders
Boston Brackley Buxton Chorley Fylde Kidderminster
Top Half
Chester Darlington Hereford Kings Lynn Southport Spennymoor.
Bottom Half
Alfreton Banbury Curzon Ashton Kettering Peterborough Sports Scarborough
Relegation Candidates
Blyth Bradford Farsley Gloucester Leamington Telford.

Don't think you're too far wrong with those, although Telford have a wee bit more money behind them this season but it depends how they've spent it.

Are kings Lynn still in decent nick or are they in freefall now?

Also, bloody Buxton. I wish these daft pricks bankrolling tiny clubs would sod off.

Peterborough Sports will end up in the top half. They have been spending too.

I am not expecting Chorley to be as competitive next season as they have been and as others have said Peterborough Sports possibly pushing the top half.

Wonder if Billy Heath has tried to get Tom Denton in yet noticed he has left Chesterfield.

Think the title will be between Fylde, Boston and Kidderminster. Cant see past Fylde personally. James Rowe might be of questionable character based on how his last few clubs would talk about him. However, he's built very competitive teams at every club he's been at. Add to that financial backing that means he can add quality reinforcements when we wants (as we saw with Hatfield last year) and it's hard to look past them. Boston have made some good early signings but need to replace the goals of Danny Elliott, similar for Kidderminster losing Berjami, Austin and Sterling-James are all players who need replacing.

Brackley will have to sign a fair few good players before I'd give them the title of promotion contenders. Lost Ndlouv, Lowe, Lomas & Myles. Similarly Chorley have yet to sign anyone of real note that I can see and lost a very solid manager at this level to Buxton.

Think Gloucster and Telford will be better than relegation candidates. Telford seem to have made some solid initial signings and Gloucster especially massively under performed last season when they were full time. Apparently they gone back to a hybrid system this year but they're well backed. Would imagine a comfortable / top half season for them.

I think Kettering could be in a bit of trouble. The side that was playoff hopefuls for a while last year has been completely ripped apart and not seen sign anyone to the quality of what they've lost. I'd move them into relegation candidates.

Haha if only I could bet on football...

I think we can expect much of the same from Alfreton this season. Tom Denton and Matt Rhead as their forwards.

We might need to plan Beck in defence alongside Wheater and Lawlor for that one 🤣

People laugh at Denton because he is a big lump, but I saw him quite often when he was at NFU and for his size he is actually a decent footballer.
I would always have liked to see him in a Darlo top. Reminds me a lot of Alan Gilzean. (On a lower level of course).

Rhead absolutely bullied fuck out of B Taylor and Storey last year, Alfreton should have scored 7 or 8.

I feel a lot more confident with Wheater and Lawlor facing Rhead and Denton. Ideal opportunity for a hopefully fully fit Wheater to show his class.

Just watched the highlights of Spennymoor 0-4 Gateshead. Looked a lot more one sided than our game with Rochdale. Only a friendly, but I will revise my prediction. Spennymoor will be looking for a new manager by October 🤣🤣🤣

Never seen Morley as angry as he was in his post match interview. Not sure who got sent off but heard Joe mentioned, not sure if it was Wheatley but he slated whoever it was.

I think it was Jo Cummings who was sent off. He is a recent signing from Radcliffe.
Spennymoor still seem to be relying on Tait and Curtis as their central defensive partnership. They looked all at sea against Heed, and really looking forward to seeing how Beck and Hazel do against them.

They probably need to improve on Tait and Curtis if they are going to be at the right end of the table. For me Tait is no more than just adequate at this level. Curtis I've long admired and in the past 2 or 3 years I often remarked I'd love to see him in a Darlo shirt. However Curtis must now be pushing 40, and you can only go so long until you start to decline.

Suprised curtis is still playing and seems to be just a player too as opposed to combining it with coaching

I watched Chester take on Runcorn linnets in a pre season friendly today . We’ve no need to be worried about them as they may well be relegation fodder …. Chester have poached linnets manager from last season and he’s taken 3 of his best players with him …. But that’s from two leagues below and there didn’t appear to be much between the sides today in a game Chester won 1-nil thanks to a dubious penalty . I know it was a friendly but can only see a season of struggle for Chester
