Re: New signing
Quite astonished at this signing. Really excited.

That's nothing. You should see the rays of sunshine darloed19 is casting in the 'Potential new signings' thread.Old Git wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 10:24 amI thought I was a bit of a pessimist at times, but you really are a glass half empty guy.darloed19 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 9:19 amAgreed few bad games and his morale may drop againDarlogramps wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 9:06 amI think you’ve got it spot on. Exciting signing for sure, he’s either going to flop or be a huge success. I can’t imagine a middle ground.
The danger is he has a slow start, some of the neanderthals in our fanbase get on his back and he struggles.
It’s a gamble but if it pays off, he’ll be a spectacular success.

Should ask me about my thoughts on our currentEngland squad if you think I am being pessimistic about darlo…biccynana wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 8:44 amThat's nothing. But, with the signing of Maddison I’m quite happy now that we can actually push for playoffs.biccynana wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 8:44 amThat's nothing. Re: New signing
One player who we know is a bit of a gamble has changed your mind that much?
Re: New signing
I think with Maddison's ability and pedigree he could smash this league with one leg. Not sure of the situation with Spalding United for him to only play 4 games. But, even though he was not fit he still managed 2 goals and 4 assists (This is according to him looking through his Instagram, before I get accused of fake news). With Hazel who is a natural finisher, with someone who is on their day a L1/L2 quality player supplying him we could be in for a great season. Now there is obvious concerns regarding his mental health and his passion for football, but if we do not take that into consideration we could have the best player in non-league never mind our league.
Re: New signing
The thing I like about our new signing is that he is willing to have a shot from outside the penalty area, not something we have seen a lot of since Charman left. Think team is looking solid unless we have injuries.
Re: New signing
Yes he has scored lots of spectacular goals from long range. Also plenty of goals from free kicks.
Re: New signing
We are not a 1 man team if Marcus is a good fit the team will do well there is no I in Team,
The right pegs in the right holes and we should do very well ,it appears AA is getting a very strong set of players together , i really think we are going for it this season, looking forward to getting a strong team performance from the off, hopefully a top end Finnish,

Re: New signing
Thought we had resigned Tepi Moilenan. Remember him played 15 games in goal in 1997. Pretty decent keeper as I recall, was on loan from Preston.

Re: New signing
Decent keeper but useless as a centre forward. Not a goal to his name!

Bring back Ville Vaisanen.
Re: New signing
And gramps wins this week's 'most obscure former Darlo player reference' award.
Re: New signing
Someone I know interviewed Marcus after the Chorley match. He said that he was great to interview and spoke in depth and very openly and honestly on a range of topics.
Interview will be in the next edition of the Non League Paper.

Re: New signing
Looking forward to reading it! We’re going to have some player on our hands when he’s fully fit.
