Personal reasons seem to be the main rumour for anything KDS.
Any rumours where he might be going?

Some one asked KDS if he was staying as he walked past during the game and he said yes!

I think we need to maybe consider that Beck probably isn't coming now.

If he was, I think it'd be done by now.

No sign of him at Aycliffe on Tuesday so maybe he is training somewhere else. We do need another forward in but we still have options. Hazel and Mondal looked sharp at Aycliffe and a partnership with a good bigun and a nippy little partner can be an excellent combination. I can also see a scenario where we play Hazel as a lone striker with 2 others sitting behind him. Say a midfield 3 of Rose Moke and Purver with Lambert and Maddison in advanced roles to link up with Hazel.

I quite like the cut of your jib Oldgit. Looking at the names you mention above it seems we have the makings of a good team - I've heard on the grapevine that Hazel is an exciting prospect.

Thanks and don’t forget we could have Mondal and KDS on the bench in that scenario. Still need cover for Hazel, whether that be Beck or someone else.

Might see us going for O'Neill if Beck doesn't sign.

Saying that, O'Neill is currently training with Stockton Town at the moment.

Surely if we sign Mark Beck he won’t be used as cover for Hazel ?

Ok I will rephrase that. An alternative to Hazel is still required.

Latest update from the Echo on Beck:

“While Dos Santos’ exit will disappoint some supporters, Armstrong is optimistic about the chances of bringing striker Mark Beck back to the club.

“A free agent after leaving Harrogate Town at the end of last season, Sunderland-based Beck has trained with Darlington this summer.”

I wonder if Beck is training with us in the hope of getting a full time offer from elsewhere but if none is forthcoming, then he’d be happy to sign for us.

I think that’s exactly what he’s doing, has to look after himself I suppose. I worry Shields might lure him with a full time contract though, closer to home as well.

Or perhaps it’s a bumper new contract for Jarrett Rivers?

We’ve posted a picture of a stream, or should that be a “Beck” on our social media accounts.

Unless of course we’re bringing back Johnny Burn….

In fairness, if you listen to the interview with AA, we were actually bang on. He confirms the offer has been in for Beck since May, and the delay was he was wanting full time football.

Oh right didn't realise it had been that long. Really pleased with this, we know what Beck is like at this level as long as Hazel moves up a level with no problems we’ll be laughing!

In the same way we are looking at some teams like Boston and saying they are going to be right up there, I reckon our signings so far (especially Rose, Maddison and Beck) will prompt fans from elsewhere to be saying the same about us.

Good job done, AA. Given us a decent squad to kick off the season this time, so hope we can get off the blocks quicker & build a stack of points for our promotion push.

Beck, Hazel, Maddison and Lambert is a pretty exciting front four. On paper surely the best we've had for years.

You could argue there's question marks over whether Hazel will step up and whether Beck and Maddison can return to the form of previous years but if they all do then we've got no reason not to be competitive this season.

The squad as it stands looks a good competitive one and no reason at all not to feel optimistic.Any further quality signings will be even better.
