Seen on Twitter (not sure how legitimate this account is as this ‘journalist’ only has 109 followers) that Scunthorpe is interested in Rivers. Don’t feel this is actually true, very strange move if this happens, but has anyone heard anything about this?

Maybe they mean Joan Rivers.
Surely, if they are looking to sign an attacking wide player, Erico Sousa would be a better option for them.

It's very feasable. The owner is effectively mothballing them and looking for players on the cheap. Sousa is way out of their price range.

Just looking at Scunny squad on their website & only naming 3 forwards in group of 17 players so perhaps looking for some attacking options?

Not sure if Tony McMahon is still a coach at Scunny, but if he is that could be the link. Believe they worked together at our Academy so could be teaming up again.
Don’t want to be disrespectful to Rivers, but not sure if he is still good enough to play at that level.

Could be in a coach/player capacity considering that’s what he does at the moment with us (I believe). Prospects of more money, but less playing time may attract him. Will be more beneficial for his career, but to sacrifice his minutes on the pitch, football is a short career after all. Again, merely speculation but I can understand why they would want a rotational player at best in the league below if it wasn’t in some sort of other capacity.

“Looking for players on the cheap” reminds me of a certain period of time in our history, and it didn’t particularly go very well for us. It’s a bit of a blur but I’m thinking of Paddy Deane? And Co and the struggles at the Arena.

If this is what the Scunthorpe fans are going to endure, then gawdelpum.

Good point, didn’t we sign a couple of lads from northern league that ended up starting regularly that season?

He's decent enough for us but it's a step up to Scunthorpe isn't it?

I'd be surprised but if it happens then good luck to him.

Can’t believe anyone is taking that account seriously. He’s clearly a guess merchant who leeches off genuine journalists and tries to claim he’s in the know. A quick look through his posts and you can see there’s no substance to him.

Two days ago he claimed Will Grigg was off to Walsall. The same day he joins MK Dons.

Another twitter quote, 'don't listen to anything this clown says' refering to Aaron Patterson, could equally apply to darloed19.

No need to be a knob, just something I saw on Twitter didn’t say it was fact…

Never had an offer to go anywhere. He's happy doing what AA wants him to do.

In his post match interview AA scoffs at the the suggestion of Rivers moving to Scunthorpe. Apparently illness the reason for his non appearance today.

So a random Twitter account from a “journalist”who doesn’t work for a publication, brought up by DarloEd19, turns out to be rubbish.

Who’d have thought it?

It’s like you deliberately try and find something wrong with my posts.

Have another go at reading it… I’ll even capitalise the bits you should focus on.

Would have thought Rivers is an integral part with Hazel & Beck now available as targetman in our middle. Just hope Rivers puts in his crosses as soon as he beats the defender this season, also makes more of a contribution to our goal tally this season. Glad he is staying put with us.

Very surprised by Scunthorpe beating Sheff Utd yesterday. They've assembled a team on the cheap and apparently played very well. Keith Alexander of Lincoln did the same when they had financial troubles and got them into the play-offs by some miracle, so it can work. Their problem is that they have no squad depth. Any injuries and they're in trouble. Remember Peter Swann has separated the club from the ground, which is owned by one of his 'companies'. He also says he's wanting to sell. Sound familiar?
