Interesting fans forum but nothing really new to report. On the playing side AA says he is happy with the squad, although he would ideally like to bring in a couple more players, possibly a central defender and midfielder. He did suggest that we may bring in a loanee once the season starts or possibly be able to sign someone on a dual registration.
DJ mainly talked about the new ground situation. DBC have identified 2 possible sites , both on the outskirts of the town, where they would be willing in principle to allow a stadium to be built. He stressed that the Council will dictate to us where it will be situated not the other way around. We are exploring the viability of both sites and talking to the two developers to ascertain which will be the most suitable.
The idea is to develop a ground which will meet EFL requirements. In the short term we will be engaging with architects to draw up suitable plans to put before the Council later this year, and if all goes well building could start next year, with a view to being open for the start of the 2024/25 season.
There will be an initial cost of around £60k for architects fees etc. which the club will need to pay out in the coming weeks. We can afford to do this from our financial reserves, but ideally they would like to raise the money another way. So if anyone out there has a brilliant idea to raise the funds I am sure the club would love to hear from you.

The bricks were £25 and they were in place a long time NOT

it took me years to rescue our family brick, and it now sits beneath our phone - but it's a good idea though, as this proposed new stadium I'm sure will be long term.

The Tees would be better it is faster flowing in places.
On a serious note I do expect the Club to call on our Financial support at various stages of the Ground project and I have no issue with that. Clearly the really big costs like the "build" costs will have to be meet by way of a loan. Got to admit, I would rather see some sort of plan from the Club regards what they believe the Fans could contribute towards the Ground at this stage, rather than ask (and I know they have not so far) for money at this very first stage.

On the topic of fundraising a massive well done to all those who sponsor home and away kits for the team and staff. That's really impressive when you see the list. Brilliant fans.
