Happy World International Hand-Wringing Day everybody

Post by grytters » Tue Aug 06, 2019 6:07 pm

It's the 74th anniversary of dropping the atomic bomb on Hiroshima.

And we've all got to feel guilty apparently

Yet no guilt for the systematic abduction and rape of Chinese and Korean women

No guilt for the wilful torture, murder, and abuse of POWs on the Burma Railway (among other places)

No guilt for believing and stating the Mikado was a living god and this excused the right to commit crimes against humanity.

The mistake wasn't dropping the bomb.

The mistake was only dropping one more.

I mean, sure, I know it was sometime around my tween years when I saw them for sure. I was 13 when I saw the brightly colored lines cutting straight across the gravel parking lot, leading me back to my parents after I had gotten lost on that road trip. But before that? I really couldn't say. Maybe I had seen them before, mistaking them for pavement lines and supermarket 9Apps Showbox markings.
