Thankfully neither of the 2 main parties are interested in PR.

It wouldn't surprise me if Labour back PR at some point in the future. No system is perfect, but I think overall PR is a fairer electoral system than FPTP.

Big clanger dropped by Labour's Jonathan Ashworth, a true gift for the Conservatives.

I’m changing my mind about P.R. Where I live my vote simply just won’t mean a jot as it’s the safest (or second safest) Tory seat, and throughout the country there will loads of people in the same position.

Labour might have no choice in the matter if they ever want to form another government. They used to win a lot of seats in Scotland which was crucial in them winning an election. The rise of the SNP has made it increasingly unlikely as they can not win enough seats in England and Wales to gain an overall majority.

Labour will never form a majority government, as they have lost they're power in Scotland, they could never win enough seats in England & Wales to form a government, without someone else's help. If Scotland ever left the union, then they'd have no natural allies in Parliament, game over.

Pretty sad right gloating / willing a situation where government has no meaningful opposition.

I highly doubt labour will win this election but the gap is surely opening up for a centre left party as it did in 1997? It is almost the natural order when the tories shift right.

I agree there should be an effective opposition, but the Lib Dems have it looks like not made any headway & if you believe the polls, they'll lose ground or at best gain the odd seat.

Vote Labour or you will forever have a Tory government.
Page 48 of their manifesto spells it out.

The thing is, even if the Tories win, I’ll still be depressed about the number of people who voted for Corbyn.

It’s like when everyone votes for what to eat and a Curry wins, but you can’t enjoy it because you know the second most popular meal was you.

I've been working in one of the local constituencies & from what I witnessed the seat will be turning Tory.

The Tories are and were getting back no matter what. Even staunch lifelong Labour voters don't want Corbyn.

I met a guy today whilst I was working on the election & he has been a lifelong agent for labour. He voted today for the Conservatives, as he hates Corbyn & what he stands for. he also thought Labour had betrayed the electorate by not honouring the referendum, which labour had promised to honour the outcome. Now if a bloke who has served the labour party his whole life & now turns the back on them, it means the writing is on the wall for labour & especially for Corbyn & his cronies.

So what did you witness? As far as I am aware the vote is between the voter and her ballot paper. So what were you witnessing?

Made my vote today.

Sticking with Labour despite no confidence in Jenny Chapman.

Can’t bear the idea of Boris remaining in charge.

It isn't just one bloke though is it? he's been a lifelong supporter of Labour & he's worked for them for many years. For a person like him to turn his back on the party he has worked for & supported shouldn't be ignored.

Sorry you're right. It's one bloke who claims to have been a life long Labour voter. How do you know he is who you claim he is?

Because a woman was passing by at the time & on her way back out of the polling station, she said that she couldn't believe he had turned his back on Labour, after serving them for so many years.

Not at all, she knew him, they said hello & how are you as they passed each other.

Wow this is a seismic event if the exit poll, is anywhere near correct. Bye bye Jenny Chapman,

Spoke to a lecturer from Durham University & he reckons that thousands of students have registered over the last few weeks & they are all intending to vote Conservative. So even Durham City that has had a massive majority for Labour, may get very close to changing to Conservative. To think that Blyth Valley is having a recount is almost impossible to believe.
