Short interview on Look North this evening with Alun Armstrong. He feels sorry for the fans & thinks if things had been normal we'd have taken 1500 down to Swindon. Can't see that to be honest, I'd imaging around 500 would have made the trip.

Over 1000 went to Walsall , so I think 500 is selling us a bit shortDarlo_Pete wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 9:04 pmShort interview on Look North this evening with Alun Armstrong. The stand behind the goal at Walsall was supposed to hold 2000.It was rammed around where I was somewhere in the middle and I think there were some gaps at the sides but must have been 1500+.

Swindon is getting on for double the distance of Walsall, although you'd probably have got a good few London exiles making the shortish trip to Swindon, if they were allowed to attend.

I reckon we’d have taken 1000+ easy.
When needed for a big game, our away support is absolutely fantastic.

Re: Swindon away GOFUNDME page set up see below for details
Purely an academic argument as we will never know how many fans would have made the journey but Swindon is definitely not nearly twice the distance of Walsall. It takes around 4 and a half hours to drive to Swindon and around 3 hours to Walsall which makes it 50% further not 100% further.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 10:42 pmSwindon is getting on for double the distance of Walsall, although you'd probably have got a good few London exiles making the shortish trip to Swindon, if they were allowed to attend.

Apparently Swindon have lost 8 out of 8 cup games under Wellens. Hope for us there.

I'd usually expecting a suggestion of more like 2000 from DP

Only £45 to go, total now stands at £1455. Has anyone checked that £1500 is enough?

Will the game go ahead, if as seems likely that there will be a full lockdown in place before next weekend?
Re: Swindon away GOFUNDME page set up see below for details
Maybe I am being ridiculously optimistic but I think we have a real chance of causing an upset on Saturday. I can see us creating chances and in Charman and Campbell we have a potent strike force capable of upsetting their defence. A pity Sousa is unavailable as he would add to the threat but Rivers is playing well and if Reid plays he can push forward from midfield as well.
Defensively we have kept successive clean sheets and Nicky Hunt was excellent at marshalling the defence on Saturday. Obviously Swindon will provide a much sterner test this week. What will be crucial for us is the availability of Hunt McMahon and Hatfield with their vast experience.
This is the team I would go with if everyone is fit.
Saltmer
McMahon. Hunt. Storey. Liddle
Hatfield. Wheatley
Rivers. Reid. Campbell
Charman
Subs Minter Laing Watson Holdness Hudson Hedley Maguire

Re: Swindon away GOFUNDME page set up see below for details
Yeah, Fully agree with your selection there. However,, if Hatfield does not make it in time for Saturday I would have no hesitation in bringing in Hudson as a direct replacement for Sousa. Others would probably go for Holness. But I have been very impressed with Hudson in his short appearances so far, He has a lot of skill and ability for a young lad, and has the confidence to go with it.. I think the lad will go a long way in the game.Old Git wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 9:40 amMaybe I am being ridiculously optimistic but I think we have a real chance of causing an upset on Saturday. Sounds like Salford are after Swindon’s manager , been reported that he won’t be in the dugout for tonight’s game

Re: Swindon away
They ask for a "voluntary" donation to gofundme when you make a donation. I think that the minimum you can select from their dropdown list of options which I think are all expressed in percentage terms, is 5%. I don't know if you can, but you might be able to, give them specific sum (I am replying from memory about what happened when I last made a donation)Darlopartisan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 9:27 pmThat’s a great amount, what percent do the gofundme firm take? This is then taken as an additional amount over and above your gift to the fund so, for example, if you give £100 to the fund and select 5% as your gift to gofundme then £105 is taken from your account.
The result is I guess that the amount showing as collected is the amount which will be handed to the club.

His second in command is looking to replace him and keep disruption to a minimum,
Darlington can cause an upset if darlington play to their full potential. Com,on lads ONWARDS and upwards with darlington FC.

We are the joint highest odds across the board. Even Marine at Colchester are lower odds for some reason!
