Re: Pools
Getting out of the NL to L2 is the hard bit once in L2 I believe you get £1.5m/£2m from the league plus a substantial amount for an academy more than enough to compete in L2. Plus increased season tickets and more away fans and any off pitch corporate which Singh is looking to do so should all help to make the club profitable.
Re: Pools
Certainly not getting complacent. Although we haven't experienced anything negative yet from Raj we know, looking from the outside, what went on your place.
All we can do is make the most of what we've got at the moment, got to remember we might not be here if it wasn't for Raj stepping in when he did.

Most clubs in league 2 lose money, so it can't be that easy to turn a profit in League 2quakersfan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 5:19 pmGetting out of the NL to L2 is the hard bit once in L2 I believe you get £1.5m/£2m from the league plus a substantial amount for an academy more than enough to compete in L2. How was your day out at Wembley by the way? Oh... yeah sorry... you've still not been there have you?
But we've also never played league games at Newton Aycliffe, Penrith, Sunderland RCA etc. etc.
It's swings and roundabouts isn't it, I'm happy with where we are at the moment and I'm sure you're happy with your lot
There. Fixed it for you.
You know he's going to leave. You also know he's going to leave you utterly skint, without assets and probably following us and Bury down the having to rebuild way down the pyramid route. He was the last desperate hope to stop you going pop last time. If you'd had any better options you would have taken them and there will not be anyone who wants to take on a club that lovely Raj sees as owing him money.
The clock is ticking. Give my regards to Jarrow Roofing.

Re: Pools
Of course they will need more funding in the EFL that's to upgrade and pay the players the price for league 2,
Everyone knows that it's around 2/2.5 million just to stand still in league 2, tight strings will only go so far ,I will not be surprised if he's gone before the season ends. He doesn't like losses.

Re: Pools
More than half of the clubs in the latest accounts made losses of more than 675k according to what I can find on Kieran Maguire's twitter feed. Solidarity payments presumably just get eaten up by increased costs, leaving nobody particularly better offlo36789 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 5:16 pmExpect they won't need the same level of input at EFL.LoidLucan wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 2:45 pmhttps://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/sport/ ... re-3220331

You have to love predictive texts. I was working in poolie & my partner sent me a text asking how my day was going & I started to reply that I was in monkey & it automatically came up with hanger as a predicted word, haha.

I know of a couple of Poolies who refuse to go to games while he is in charge.
I am also amazed at your vision of the future, how do you know that these things are going to happen? How do you know Jarrow Roofing will re-form?
Or is it really just a list of things you hope will happen?
But what if you're wrong
Re: Pools
Maybe. I thought there was some protection the league offer if you end up in admin as one of their members versus what the NL do.al_quaker wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 8:59 pmMore than half of the clubs in the latest accounts made losses of more than 675k according to what I can find on Kieran Maguire's twitter feed. And if I'm wrong you have my full permission to be all smug about it. If I'm right you'll be seeing a lot more non-league grounds. Let's see eh?

Re: Pools
Wonder how the hell they'll replace the 34 goals that Armstrong and Oates scored. Oates is getting a fierce slagging off from the fans for jumping ship in favour of the mighty Mansfield. The joy is quickly evaporating. With Raj tightening the purse strings, maybe they should have had a Boost the Budget.

Mansfield have hardly been setting the world on fire recently and the town makes hartlepool look posh. Wonder if they are bankrolled

Re: Pools
Would imagine not being able to secure the services of Oates and Armstrong is a big blow. Not as if they have gone to bigger clubs but just signed for other League 2 clubs so it looks like a financial decision on their part. As we know Raj can be tight with the purse strings and maybe he thinks they can maintain their progress without paying higher wages. Will watch with interest to see what happens.LoidLucan wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 6:15 pmWonder how the hell they'll replace the 34 goals that Armstrong and Oates scored.
