McMahon gone

Another one out, off to Scunthorpe to take up a coaching role there.
"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

Shame to lose him. The interview he gave earlier in the year about the academy and what could be done with it was a good read, sounded like he had some really good ideas and ambitions on how we could make ourselves an attractive option to young lads dropping out of the pro-academies. Added to some of the good results he seemed to achieve and the fact he was a recognisable name that was giving coaching he'll be tough to replace. Feels the next appointment for the Academy is a big one if we really want it to start bearing fruit.

Completely understand that a first team coaching role at FL club is a step and best of luck to him with it.

Could provide an attractive opportunity for a pro nearing the end of his career to come in as player/ academy manager.

Good luck to Tony a step up in his coaching career, everyone aims higher that is how it should be if you're ambitious.

A good appointment, a strong academy particularly if we move up the leagues is good for players and something the club can make money out of. Does Stephen live locally?
