Potential new signings
Potential new signings
With the vast majority of retained lists now released , which 3 players would you like to see us sign and why ? (Realistic targets only)
For me I would go for these -
Joe Leesley - LW - 16 assists whilst on loan at Boston last season , a left footed winger who can cross the ball and is strong at set pieces ( I can’t remember the last time we had a quality left footed winger )
Connor Malley - CM - finished the season on loan at Gateshead, I think he would give us the legs and drive from midfield that’s been missing since Hatfield left
Mark Beck - CF - we all know what he would give us , great target man and would chip in with 10-15 goals imo

Re: Potential new signings
Jake Cooper - CB released by Rotherham
Re: Potential new signings
Would be a great signing - would give us three very strong options at CB
Re: Potential new signings
Beck
Kaine Felix
Pollock (from Hereford) - local lad
Danny Johnson - but aware this is very over optimistic

Re: Potential new signings
Noticed Justin Donawa was not in the Solihull Moors squad for playoff final. Has he fallen out of favour with them? Would welcome him back into ours for next season as we seemed to carry a goal threat when he was up front.

Re: Potential new signings
Pretty sure he was out for rest of the season with an injury he got over Xmas time? Could be wrong though..

Re: Potential new signings
Broke his leg a few months ago, presume he isn't back to fitness as yet.
Re: Potential new signings
Ahhh. Can't help but think Gateshead or York would be interested if he is going to drop mind.
Re: Potential new signings
Thanks, Super-Les. Bit of a shame for the lad to be crocked just as his big chance came. Hope he makes a full recovery & if he fancies a loan spell here on his way back....super_les_mcjannet wrote: ↑Sun Jun 05, 2022 9:29 pmBroke his leg a few months ago, presume he isn't back to fitness as yet.
Re: Potential new signings
Kenton Richardson- RB - released from Sunderland is another id have a look at , did well on loan at Spenny last season. I guess he might follow the vibes and stay up there though
Re: Potential new signings
JJ Hooper is available from South Shields - not sure if he would be a decent option or not.

Re: Potential new signings
Depends on how many options we have, but yes he would be a decent enough squad signing, his record isn't bad in terms of goals return.
Not heard him mentioned in regards to us and he had been full time since 2015 and the only time he wasn't full time I think he was based down South.

Re: Potential new signings
Didn't do much last time he was with us did he? Although he was just a young kid then.
Did okay in the National League with Bromley a couple years ago.
Can imagine he would want a decent whack of wages, I think there's better options out there for money we'd be paying.
Re: Potential new signings
Listed but imagine it's to get him off their wage bill for Phillips signings.
Re: Potential new signings
Alex Nicholson just released at Gateshead, would definitely do a job for us
Re: Potential new signings
Yes add that to the list.Lallacab wrote:Alex Nicholson just released at Gateshead, would definitely do a job for us

Re: Potential new signings
My guess is he will base himself out Liverpool if he moves out of full-time football - feeling that could be a barrier.

I see Gary Liddle has signed for shields, 35 year old now but a good pick up for them IMO

Re: Potential new signings
If he was a target, this isn't happening as he has joined Altrincham.
"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"
Re: Potential new signings
Looking at some of the other clubs in our league, a couple have lost some key players. Kettering have lost several of their best performers and also had to change managers when Culverhouse walked away. Brackley have lost 3 of their top performers, including one to Boston, who have been recruiting strongly, but their 30 goal man Danny Elliott is about to come out of contract and is in demand. The Brackley boss reckons some players are making "excessive" demands at this "early stage" and he's biding his time. "We need to let things settle down and get back to realistic money and then we will be getting more players on board," he said.
Re: Potential new signings
See Erico De Sousa has been released by Grimsby.
Re: Potential new signings
Long shot, but what about Marcus Carver from scumlepool?
