Joins from Peterborough Sports. Only joined them this summer - lure of the Darlo too much.

This is turning into a very good day with 3 new players coming in. We now seemed very well stocked for wide attackers. Wonder if someone will be moving on. Perhaps Scunthorpe have rekindled their interest in Rivers 🤣

Our attacking options have to be up there with some of the best in the league.

Beck, Hazel, Felix, Lambert, Maddison, with Rivers, Mondal and Hughes (wouldn’t surprise me to see at least one outgoing to be honest as we have eight attackers for four or five positions).

There’s plenty of flexibility to play different systems too. We can have Beck and Hazel up front together, or could add in the extra attacking midfielder instead.

I’d personally favour 4-2-3-1 with Felix, Maddison and Lambert in behind Hazel, with Rose and Moke holding. Gives you the option of bringing Beck on from the bench to batter a tiring defence.

Alternatively, if we’re playing a physical side (E.G. Alfreton) then someone like Beck can come into his own.

Not overly convinced about having Wheater, Lawlor and Emery as the three CBs for the season. Wheater won’t play 50+ games and it appears to be a big step up for Emery. Sukar can also cover but was a full back at Step 3 last season. Hopefully I get proved wrong but that’s potentially looking a bit thin. However it’s considerably stronger than it was 12 months ago.

Wonder how the Felix transfer came about. Very unusual for a player to sign for a new club in the close season and then move on without playing a game. Possibly a change in his circumstances that meant he wanted to be back up north or some sort of disagreement between him and his new employers. Either way a really good eve of season boost for us.

Read somewhere that he said he'd made a mistake and should have joined us in the first place. On another note, DJ said the budget was used up 2 weeks ago, so wonder if that was a ploy to prevent clubs from asking us for silly
money or whether we've got some money from KDS.

Have to agree. Best attacking threat we have had for a long time and must be plenty of goals in the team now. Well done to AA for persuading this calibre of player to join.

However, we do look a lot lopsided with all these attacking options but basically very little or no central defence cover with any experience. Hopefully one of these loans from a higher division local club may still happen with one a centre half.

Still exciting times ahead. Who plays wide, Maddison, Lambert, Felix, Rivers? Personally, I am not a fan of 424 and would play Hazel on own with one of these guys in an attacking midfield role.

Hats off to Alun excellent transfer window, would like to see a CB on loan, but it’s a 9/10 for our signings!

It’s easier to pick up a half decent defender on loan if required than it is to sign a good forward on loan.

I heard an interview with the Peterborough Sports manager and he said Felix had said he didn't think it was working out, partly due to their style of play and Felix felt it would be better if he moved on. The manager said his name was put out there and Brackley and us came forward and he chose us after speaking to AA. They tore up Felix's contract and accepted it was best for all parties and there doesn't seem to have been any animosity at all.
