We Got Kane But Able?

we got kane but able?

Darlo may be at the bottom of the football league but Colin Todd has been on the phone all week trying to strengthen his squad.  He has done just that by adding Irish Under 21 Tony Kane to the list, which makes three new signings over the last seven days.

The right back joins on a one month loan from Carlisle United and will go straight into the squad this afternoon to face the tough test of table topping Bournemouth.  Talking to The Northern Echo Todd said  “It has been a very busy few days and I have been trying to wheel and deal to bring in the kind of players who can improve us. I am happy with the players we’ve managed to get and I hope they can help turn things around – starting with Bournemouth on Saturday.”

In the same article Steve Foster made comment that he believes the squad the club have together should be enough to avoid relegation.  “I definitely believe the squad is strong enough to stay up,’’ he said. “We have players with experience of playing in this division and some talented youngsters coming from leagues above us.

“I think we have enough, we just need to click. There is still the belief that we can go and get a result in every game.’’ He added: “It is a difficult period. The squad had a meeting the other day and none of the other lads have gone through anything like this.

“I have had the experience once before of being down at the bottom of the table and it’s not nice. You can get into a habit of losing so we must rectify that sooner rather than later.

“There is an element of me being a senior pro to help the young lads but equally I need a lift from them – their energy and enthusiasm can brighten the place up when things could potentially be a bit gloomy.

“I believe we have massive ability in the squad. Once we get that first win the confidence will flood back and well start to climb the table.”
