Russell Joins FGR

Sam Russell has joined fellow Blue Square Premiership side Forrest Green Rovers on a 2 1/2 year deal.

Russell was released by the club on Wednesday after handing in his 14 day notice and was quickly snapped up, although Forrest Green Rovers is a bit of a surprise if I am honest.

"This is a big signing and will provide a big boost to the squad, as we believe Sam is the best keeper in the league," said manager David Hockaday.

"With his Football League experience he can help take us to the next level."
